My husband and I ate lunch at Amber, May 29th 2007.
We started with calamari. This is a dish that we always use for a test at a new restaurant that we are reviewing. The dish was very inconsistent. Some of the pieces were OK, others were very rubbery. I would not order the calamari again.
My husband had the pork salad. It was good. The sesame oil was not overpowering and the granny smith apples added a bit of tartness and crunch that did keep the dish interesting.
I had the chicken sandwich. The bread was very thick. The sandwich was unbelievably bland! The chicken breast was cooked properly, but that is about all I could say about it.
The wine-by-the-glass selection was good.
The wait staff was friendly.
It would be nice if the owner would request no parking in front of the restaurant so that diners seated by the windows would have an unobstructed view of Danville's Hartz avenue.
