Big change in my son's grades
by Amanda L.
I started Sylvan right after I saw my son's report card. He had D's in Math and Science. After our testing we were able to see where he needed to re-learn and catch up in his math, we also started him on homework help for his science. The Education Director keeps in touch with his teacher and they also do progress testing along the way. My son is very happy and feels so much better about school and the progress he is making. We are so glad that we got him help. The staff at San Bruno are very caring and understanding!

Wonderful!!!
by Kay B.
We just started our son at San Bruno Sylvan and have seen a HUGE change in his confidence, work ethic and his grades in math have gone from an D to A in just a few months!!! We would strongly recommend this learning center. The staff was very helpful and worked with my son's school teacher to identify his skill gaps. The teachers are excellent and are very caring.

Unprofessional & rude

My child had a very specific tutoring need that needed to be filled. I spoke to the staff and they indicated they could fill that need. I was told there was a No-Risk Promotional offer that we could take advantage of. If we were unhappy at any point all our monies would be refunded. Of course, my child had to be tested first. After the testing, I was told my child was 2 grade levels behind and needed over $6000 in tutoring. This was ludicrous as my child is an honor student at a private high school. When I refused to enroll her in the program, they refused to refund the monies I paid under the no risk promotion. They became very argumentative and told me that the college-prep high school she was attending was teaching her the wrong skills and she would never pass college entrance exams. I highly recommend hiring a private tutor that can specifically meet your child's needs rather than one of these assembly line facilities.

I have a niece who is attending this learning center, and it is costing the family an extensive amount of money. You have to even pay for the testing to find out where the learning disabilities are. The results are not what we expected for all of the classes and money that has been put out.

I took my daughter in to be tested for learning disabiliites. You have to pay for each individual test that you take. It is very expensive if you actually join the program.

Sylvan Learning Center is a wonderful place to take your children to get extra help in their schoolwork. I highly recommend this palce even though your child may be doing well in school. They get an advantage of a one and one tutor that can enforse topics. They teach students peoper study habits and time management skills. Its a wonderful thing to do for your children. It keeps them prepared in their classes.
