5 Stars: Excellent but... (by Jonathan L.)

At first, I was very skeptical about any tire company that isn't a franchise but PTO proved me wrong. I first heard of them through a total stranger on the street when I was asking where Wheel Works was located for Toyota Camry oil change because I had their coupon but he recommended Pacific Tires Outlet and added, "I've always change my tires at PTO," so when I approached the manager Phil Sweat, he squeezed me in for an oil change even though they were about to close. Now THAT is good service. 5/5

I personally love places where they value their customers so of course, needless to say, I came back the second time for an oil change. They quoted, "will be done in one hour" in which they took my car in after 10 minutes. Btw, they rotate your tires for free in any type of service but you just need to ask. Another 5/5

They recommended me to change tires because they were balding. (I knew that) so I asked Phil what they got and what they suggested were Primera tires and Uniroyal if I want cheap touring tires.

Note: Tires have the same concept as everything else, "What you pay is what you get, now that doesn't necessary mean the more you pay, the better you get, since sizes vary the price too, but you get what I mean."

By the way they talked, it really sounded like they were trying to rip you off and sell you some "junk" tires. Phil even brought one of his tech Frank in to explain what he recommended and they'll always ask the following questions:

1. what type of driving do you do
2. how many miles do you drive a year

When they consider what car you drive, they give you a list of tires and the prices are usually good. At that time, I still didn't "buy" it. Oh well, I got 4 Primera tires instead (279), since they were cheaper than Uniroyal(319).

Long story short, Phil will be the type of guy women love to have as their customer service, believe it or not. He could be your enemy if you're sensitive to body gestures cause he can seem like someone who is impatient but for me, I take it as a joke and since I'm the customer, I have the right to do business there for now so my suggestion is, if you don't them, go to Wheel Works. I've compared the prices and to make customers confused and things more complicated, PTO sells more tires that other companies don't sell such as Uniroyal, Riken and Primera.

This was yesterday. Today I went in Wheel Works and ask what they could give me and for the cheapest ones, it's Primewall, with a warrenty of 40K miles and 4 for $312 with tax. The next step up are Falken Ziek with 65K mi warrenty (which are excellent tires) for $377. There was no comparison. Now I just hope the Primera tires will last 60,000 miles like they promised to.

All in all, I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy tires in Milpitas. Think about it, I wouldn't spend my valuable time writing a review if they weren't good or deserve a good review, so believe me, they're good to deal with. I don't guaranteed they'll be easy and friendly since both times I went, they were kind of busy and packed.

5 Stars: Pacific Tire Outlet (by Cora R.)

A couple of years ago I needed to buy new tires for my car and went to the Pacific Tire Outlet. The staff there was very friendly and knowledgeable. They helped my find very inexpensive tires for my car and squeezed me in to put in my new tires that same day. They also provide free rotations if you buy your tires from them.

5 Stars: these guys are great! (by carol w.)

I come into PTO, and there's Phil. Very no-nonsense, straight forward and direct.

If you're one of these folks that have watched their first "customer service" video, and expect the same here, it's not going to happen. Phil does not give a sales pitch, song and dance, or kisses butt. He's great and making sure your car is serviced correctly, you have a great deal, and that you're on the road in one piece.

i've been going there for 6 years, and have watched the sensitive, touchy-feely types become easily intimidated with Phil's direct answers and fast pace. All i can say is, when those folks walk away looking for "fluffery", usually 2-3 other folks are there to take their place. and i'm one of them. Great job guys!!
