All the extra charges really bothered me. We were charged extra just for sitting in a group AND a mandatory 18% gratuity on top of that. My wallet was nickeled and dimed to death! I won't go back there. Even the beer was expensive.

The karaoke here was ok, but nothing special. C'mon, it's LA. There's karaoke EVERYWHERE. Go somewhere else.

Pros: Decent karaoke

Cons: hidden charges

What you don't pay in cover you make up for in drink prices. You have to turn your back to the crowd to see the karaoke screen. I have heard better sound in a high school kids car.

My boyfriend and I checked out this place looking for a new karoake watering hole. It is a pretty cool place. There is no cover fee, the drinks are decent prices, and it's only a dollar a song to sing karoake. The only downside is that the karoake situation is not totally ideal. The sound is not great and the TV screen with lyrics is pointed toward the wall so it's hard to sing along and work the crowd. Other than that it was a cool joint.

I had been told by several people that Bleu was a fun place to go to for Karaoke, not so....

We went on a Frday night and got there around 10 pm. The place is very small and there were a few people sitting at the tables drinking and smoking.

The people in here were VERY strange, cannot describe it but everything was wrong.

A very old Destiny's Child concert was playing on the TV screen! What was that about???

Not much singing going on and the place just creeped me out. I will definitely not be going back!

This is a karaoke bar in the same building as Furaibo, in the Japanese enclave on Sawtelle. It is a fairly relaxed and friendly place. The crowd seems to be a mixture of Japanese expatriates and locals. They have a pretty good selection of classic and even contemporary English-language songs. They even had OPM's "Heaven is a Half Pipe" and when my friend sang that one he got the whole crowd singing along on the chorus and clapping. Even if you sing as badly as I do, the crowd is pretty polite. Iassume the selection of Japanese songs is pretty good as well. They do a fairly good job mixing drinks, and the snacks are OK. There is a drink minimum, I can't remember what it is. Oddly enough they have somehow been exempted from the county or state regulations that forbid smoking in bars and restaurants and they have signs posted on the wall that explain their exemption. Go figure. Overall this is an interesting and fun place.
