After having many great sushi experiences at Midori, we stopped in one night and there were what looked like two high school kids playing the roll of "Sushi Chefs". We ordered some tuna sashimi for a warm up, and it was a joke, it was warm and looked like they sliced it with a plastic knife. There is an old woman working there who could be described as the Japanese version of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi." She refused to accept that we were dissatisfied, and kind of went off on us! We left and went to a different Sushi place never to return until recently. The have a real chef now, and his sushi is acceptable, but the Sushi Nazi is still there. Maybe it's worth a visit just to see her in action.

Pros: Sometimes the chef makes great sushi

Cons: Sometimes the chef makes crummy sushi

I came across this sushi joint after grocery shopping one morning and decided to take my husband hat night to try it out. Since we are only seasonal locals we are not that familiar with the area. The food here was so incredibly good and unlike many sushi restaurants these days it was very authentic traditional Japanese food. The staff was also kind and helpful. The dining experience was quite an enjoyment!

Midori Japanese Restaurant has a nice pre fixe lunch with soup and salad and choice of entrees and sushi for less than $10.00. The sushi chefs and the wait staff are a lot of fun.

Dinner time is my favorite with the special boat dinners. There is just something special and fun about having your food served in a wooden boat. And the food is fantastic. From the spicy tuna roll to the yellow tail sushi to the shrimp and veggie tempura to the beef teriyaki you will be pleased with your choices.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to! I have never had someone ever be that rude to me. I could have gotten better sushi rolls at a grocery store. After going through such bad service, I look down on my plate to find hair in my sushi. This is the place to go if you want to have the worst dining experience you have ever had.

Midori's Food is good but I've gotten food poisoning twice at the Rancho Mirage location. My husband really wanted me to give it another chance, since it might have been something else that made me sick, so we went a second time two years after my first visit. Unfortunately, I was sick the same way both times. To be fair, the food is tasty and the chefs are friendly, but I simply cannot recommend this restaurant based upon my experiences.

My family had a great time during Spring Break at this cozy place. We enjoyed the environment and the food is delicious. The owner is a hoot and very welcoming! The sushi chefs created a wonderful show for my kids. A perfect place to dine for out of towners.
