I have been dealing with this hospital for over 14 years now and both Dr Whitaker and Dr Lyle are the absolute best in the business. They are caring and compassionate and have always treated us with the best service. I have had three dogs treated there and 1 of them has since passed. When she passed they really went beyond their expectations. I have another elderly dog and she is 15 1/2 not expected to live much longer, but I think because of their constant care I have received much more time with her than I ever thought I would have. I would never go to any other hospital or vet. God bless them! They are the best do not hesitate to take your babies to them you will not regret it.

Do not trust the veterinarians at Newport Hills Animal Hospital.

Dr. Whitaker and Dr. Lyle both failed to diagnose a simple bladder infection that my dog had. After bringing her in several times for issues indicating a possible bladder infection, both of these incompetent veterinarians told me that my dog was fine and charged me nearly $400. each time that I brought her in.

She eventually developed toxic blood poisoning and died a horribly painful and agonizing death.

Their final bill was $1300. The emergency hospital bill was $1800. An autopsy was performed at an independent location for another $1500.

When I brought her in the day before she died, the staff was slow, apathetic and unconcerned. Dr. Lyle did not recognize the dire situation and did little to try to save her.

As consumers, we trust people who hold themselves out to the public, as professionals, to know what they are doing in their chosen profession, and there is a certain implied trust.

These incompetent and negligent individuals overcharge and misdiagnose. Dr. Whitaker doesn??t know enough to follow basic protocol and Dr. Lyle??s default answer to almost anything that he cannot figure out is that your pet probably has cancer.

I have spoken to three people recently who were told by Dr. Lyle that their dogs had cancer when in fact they did not have cancer. That is what Dr. Lyle told me the day before my dog died.

The fact is that these individuals are not very good at diagnosing and dealing with what they are presented with beyond giving routine vaccinations and selling flea medicine.

Do not risk your pet??s life at this place. There are plenty of good alternatives.

We have been taking our animals to Newport Hills Animal Hospital for years. Dr. Lyle and Dr. Whittaker are kind, caring, straight-forward, and above all care about the the well-being of the animals. We've had many procedures performed on our animals through the expertise of these doctors and drive from San Clemente because we trust that they have the best interests of our pets at heart. We've been to vets that are mediocre to down right horrible and we feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Lyle and Dr. Whittaker.
