Went in and found what we needed for front porch. New colunms, not a problem.
We looked through a catalog of man different types but liked the ones they had in stock and took them.
Nice place, i'll be sure to head back.
Southern Lumber has a great selection of home improvement supplies. Their supply of doors is huge; not only do they have a lot on display but they have catalogs full of products you can special order. They can pretty much help you with anything having to do with or made of wood!
PROS: good selection and knowledgeable staff
CONS:
We are having our front yard redone and need some new porch posts. They had an OK selection on the floor, so we asked if they had more and WOW - saw a huge catalog of things and can be ordered. We where told it would be in on July 3rd and sure enough they called that morning and it was in.
Southern Lumber has the best selection of construction lumber and specialty wood around. If you are building a deck or making a piece of furniture - this is the place for you. They have great service too. They will also cut your wood to spec for a very nominal charge. I had all my wood for a built in cabinet cut. All I had to do was put it together and paint.

Was in the market for a new door and a neighbor told me to go to Southern. They have a nice set up of doors and were able to answer any question I had, the good stuff.
After looking at a few other places I had the quote on the same door from 3-4 people and this place was about 25% more than even the middle quote., the bad part.
Nice store though
