Gretchen Schroeder Salon

I used to have Hortencia cut my hair for many years prior to me moving to So Cal. She is truly the best hair dresser in the Bay Area! She is extremely knowledgeable of hair products, and has a wonderful personality. Not to mention that she is dead gorgeous!!! If you are a man in need of a good hair cut, call this salon and ask exclusively for Hortencia. You will not want to leave unless your next appointment has been scheduled!

I went in to GS to get my hair done and was TOTALLY taken care of by a fabulous woman named Elkie. Let me tell you, she was a doll; sat me down and I was just raptured by her conversation, and when it was time to leave I was blown away by how good I looked. This is one of the best-kept secrets in California. And the receptionist...Carrie I think her name was, was charming and beautiful, and very smart as well. She set my heart right at ease the minute I walked through the doors, and I knew I had come to the right place!!!!!!!!

I offer my highest recommendation for Gretchen Schroeder Salon!

I still like Debbie's haircuts after almost 18 years. I have friends and my wife who feel likewise after many years.

Debbie is the real deal. The cut professionally and stylishly. We tries to accommodate you on the schedule. She starts and stops on time.

Frequently, she asks if I want to try something different and brings it on.

My wife trusts her to keep my wife's hair interesting and stylish. Two thumbs up!

PROS: Great cutting, on time appointments, skilled at coloring
CONS: Can be difficult to get appointments

I have only tried two of the many hairdressers that work at this salon (Lisa and Hortencia). Hortencia has given me the most exceptional cuts. I've had people walk up to me on the street and ask where I got my hair done. She has a great sense for shape of face and length that would be flattering. Although I don't have my color done, I have friends who have had great experiences with her. I think she looks at hair as an art and you can really tell she enjoys what she does.
