When it's time for you to go shopping, gather the clothes you no longer wear and bring it to the Buffalo Exchange. This store is a consignment shop as well as a vintage clothing store. They have excellent clothing at excellent quality and prices.

If you have never been here - you have to go. I use to exchange lots of clothes here. It is hit or miss in what you can pick up, but you can find the funniest and funiest stuff here.

With plenty of locations around town, Buffalo Exchange is one of the easiest places to go buy and sell used/vintage clothing. The price for such clothes is usually quite expensive for the fact that they're used, but the quality is always good. The clerks are always helpful and friendly.

This is a great little store you can buy clothing here or trade it or sell it to them that's always nice to go into a store and get some money back. The parking is of course awful but definitely worth it.

My wife loves Buffalo Exchange and gets me to go there whenever we're in the area. While they have ton's of womens clothing and shoes, they're men's selection is quite small. However, what they do have is designer clothing at low cost.

Decent used clothing store
by Anonymous
Buffalo Exchange in the Haight is a good-sized used clothing store that carries men's and women's clothing. I've never found anything I wanted there, but my friends have. They have clothes that range from standard Gap to fairly funky. Prices are similar to Crossroads'. Around Halloween they sell full-length used Halloween costumes and hats. The store and fitting rooms don't look too new or nice, but it's ok. The dinginess adds to the charm.

The Buffalo Exchange is a consignment shop located in the heart of San Francisco's historic Haight Ashbury district. The atmosphere at the Buffalo Exchange is fun and funky. The clothes, shoes and accessory are hip and current. This is not your average thrift shop--you'll find quality, current styles here at reasonable prices.
PROS: Hip, funky, current styles at reasonable prices
CONS: None

I sometimes find a good find at Buffalo Exchange, used clothing that I can make work for me. But, most of the time, the clothing there, though used, can be expensive. They do sell top brands, which are mixed in with the Target clothes, but even so, their prices can be a sticker shock if you are not use to SF second-hand boutiques.
