.

I was initially pleasantly surprised - no, shocked - by the affordable prices and styles at David's Bridal after visiting 3 other more expensive stores. I found dresses I liked all for $400 or less! The salesperson I worked with was friendly and we got along well (My experience with the rest of the staff was not nearly so positive). She did try to sell me the full package (e.g. shoes, veil, accessories, etc) and get the names & numbers of my bridal party but I was very determined about not buying anything else that day (Note: ALL sales are final). Anyway, I bought a dress, got an estimate for my alterations (which was high but acceptable for my special day), scheduled my first fitting, and left with my dress. And then it all went downhill from there.

I went for my first fitting and the staff did not speak much English so it was very hard communicating with them. It was quite frustrating and I was worried that I wouldn't get what I wanted/needed. The actual cost of the alterations turned out to be much more than the original estimate. It was ridiculous considering how simple the alterations were - to hem the front half of the skirt and take in a fraction of an inch on the sides of the top and add a basic bustle. This dress was in my size and had no embellishments, no lace, no texture, no trims, etc. I had tried on a gown 2 sizes larger with embellishments at another bridal shop and they told me it would cost $100 total for much more extensive/complex alterations. Another bridal shop said my alterations would be included since they were straightforward. It was the principle of being ripped off that really irked me. The alteration prices posted in the dressing rooms (e.g. $x and up for a hem) cover bridesmaid dresses so as the bride you get to pay way more regardless of the alterations required!

When I went to pick up my dress, there was only one seamstress available and she was already working with someone else. I put on my dress and the alterations were a disaster. The skirt had been hemmed such that the fabric curled forward and the lining showed (the outside fabric had been cut much shorter than the lining)! The inside slip was unaltered resulting in the extra fabric bunching up under the dress and popping out the bottom by about 3 inches - what seamstress forgets to hem the inside or doesn't notice something so significant?!? When a salesperson tried to show me the bustle, the button popped off immediately. I had to wait - even though I had an appointment - to have my dress re-pin and re-altered. I waited over 30 minutes while standing in my dress and then had my dress worked on over the next hour or so in between work on the other bride-to-be's dress - and then a third girl showed up for her appointment! I had 5 fittings, was still unhappy with the horrible workmanship and finally ended up renting a gown from somewhere else. All the time and money spent at David's Bridal was a complete waste!

The bottom line is that David's Bridal does have affordable bridal dresses and it's possible to have a problem-free experience but I don't think it's worth the risk. Every time I was at David's Bridal for a fitting, someone else was having a terrible experience. There's a myriad of rules that if you don't follow exactly (e.g. if you buy shoes elsewhere, they won't help you get them dyed to match) or they forget to tell you, it's their policy not to help you in any way. Once they can't sell you anything, the staff becomes even less friendly and less helpful - they must work on some kind of commission. I went to the dress/bridal shops in Temple City months later and found out I could've bought a high-quality custom-made silk dress for less than the cost of the alterations at David's Bridal!

My first stop for shopping for my wedding was David's bridal. I didn't know what to expect. When I got there they treated me like a princess. Helped me in every way. They pick out my head piece, Vail, dress, bra and shoes. They even put on earrings, necklace and bracelet. Then came the tackiest thing any business could do. I was up on the pedestal dress looking beautiful. Ready to put down half a deposit. My total was($2100.00) Since my wedding was still 8 months away. They brought over their finance manager. Told me in my dress on the pedestal I have 3 choices. Apply for their cc (you should see the intrest rate), pay cash or put it on another cc. The catch is that you have to pay in FULL before the dress can even be ordered in your size. I left that place crying they were so rude.

Or at least to be involved with everyone else's weddings. Though crowded at times with brides-to-be and their counterparts, this David's Bridal is friendly and helpful. I tried on dresses for two different weddings and had a third dress cleaned (it was their dress so they didn't charge!). The sale's women were very helpful with everything from dress sizing to picking out shoes, and I plan to go back to have another dress altered because they do that too for a great price!

David's Bridal can be an intimidating place to go when you are first a bridesmaid. First, I went online to figure out what dress I was supposed to purchase. I was a bridesmaid for my friend in another state and the people at my David's Bridal tried hard to coordinate with the people at her David's Bridal. It was an overall good experience except that when my dress came in, I was the one to follow up! Lucky for me that I did that because otherwise, the dress wouldn't have been mended in time for me to wear it in the wedding! All in all, DB can be a great place to get your gowns for a reasonable price and since they are national, they are able to call other stores if they don't have your dress.

This is where you find a decent price for a wedding dress.. A super selection of bridesmaids dresses and mother of the bride dresses. They have accesories, shoes and so much more it is a one stop wedding center. The prices are fabulous.

I went here with my wife and daughter when she was looking for her wedding dress. I don't know much about bridal gowns but I didn't like the set up of the shop. I felt like it was very hard to look thru the racks since they were so crammed together. I also didn't like that you have to try on the dress in front of everyone. A good place to start but don't stop here.

This is like a bridal wherehouse. It's a great place to go to start off the search for a gown or bridesmaids dresses. There are a lot of dresses to choose from at a low price and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The downside is that the dresses are pretty generic and they are not necessarily unique. Still a great place to start the wedding gown hunt.

This bridal place is good if you do want a custom dress. Their prices are ok but you can seriously go to Downtown LA and get a better price. I do not like this place because they are always trying to upsell you stuff. I understand that is their job but if I want more than one thing I will ask. They try to sell you everything shoes, jewelry, I mean you name it. This place is not free to let you do what you want
In fact do not even go there
