I took my ill dog to Saugus Animal Hospital/All Creatures ER and had an awful experience. My dog had generic symptoms of sickness---she was lethargic and wasn't eating. Since SAH is close to my house and I was very concerned, I took her in. I was helped (so to speak) by a "floater" vet, as I was later told. She had a miserable bedside manner toward me and my dog and of course insisted my dog needed every test in creation. After her blood test, urinalysis and vaginal smear came out normal, as well as the
x-rays and endoscopy on her belly/esophogaus (she wanted to check if my dog had swallowed something which was causing an obstruction) showed nothing abnormal, I was left the same way I came in----with a sick dog. They could find nothing wrong with her, but I still left with a bill over $1000! Yes, I know Pet ER's are always pricey, but I believe this vet and clinic threw whatever they could against the wall to see what would stick, and when they could find nothing wrong with my dog, were more than happy to bill me into debt! Needless to say, I took my dog to my own vet the next morning and within a couple of hours she'd been given barium, was found to have an ulcer, and was given medicine. I took her home and she was perfectly fine and completely back to normal by the end of the day. Either the vet at SAH/All Creatures was totally incompetent or else she was looking to make a big profit off of me and my dog. Either way, they did not help my dog and I will not go there again. I will either get in touch with my regular vet or go to McClave if heaven forbid another emergency hits. It's upsetting that I no longer have the convenience to go to a clinic so close to my house, but since my experience left me distrustful of the clinic, I will not take the chance of putting my dogs into their care ever again.
