Terrible Experience
by Valerie B.
We hired Tree Lovers after some good comments to fix a problem. The owner was all talk and repeatedly told me he could fix it. He sent different people, they had to keep fixing their mistakes -- mistakes that I had to point out. The company never checked on the work and now wants to sue us.

Not as good as the reviews

We hired Tree Lovers in 2005 to install an engineered wood floor with a real wood top. (It could be sanded and stained much like a solid wood floor.) Since we lived in a condo above someone, it was very important to us that the floors had significant layers of soundproofing.
The floors themselves where installed fairly well. However, the finishing work left a lot to be desired. The first "finish" suffered from lots of bumpiness and what looked like either air pockets or dust. They sanded and finished the floors a second time but it still had signs of bumpiness. Since it was nearing Christmas and we had to be out of the house during staining, we let it pass.
Chris, the owner, is a big personality and easy to like. However, he constantly seems to be running off to somewhere else and I didn't feel like we got much of his attention.
Overall, we felt like we got a junior crew and the end result was not nearly the quality we expected. His prices were higher than most but we hired Tree Lovers because we wanted it done right. I would not recommend them unless you are willing to look over their shoulder constantly. The quality just doesn't match the price.
