In Short
With around 10 readings a month and a full online store, this provider of mystery rags for Agatha Christie-loving bookworms can surely steal away even the most loyal Barnes & Noblites. Employee picks, whodunits for children and three book clubs (including the "Delicate but Deadly" group) confirm the precious neighborhood quality inside this sea of paperbacks and cliffhangers. Offering many first editions and signed copies of old and new releases from the likes of Lee Child, Janet Evanovich and James Patterson, among many others, the dedicated people who run this clue-collecting bookstore can turn any reader into the next Sherlock Holmes.

The Inside Scoop

  1. Save Money - Join one of the three book clubs online and get 10% off all club purchases.
  2. When to Go - Check the online calendar for author signings and "Lunch Dates with Crime."

Reviews for Mystery Book Store

Ratings_icons Great Store--lots of signed books!

The first time I visited this store it was to purchase signed books for a charity auction. I was amazed at the number of signed books they had on hand--both new and older "collectible" books. I also found a number of books for myself! There's a good selection of children and tween mystery fiction as well (i.e. Cornelia Funke) and even some branch out thriller or supernatural fiction like Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series. They also have a great collection of British mysteries that are sometimes hard to come by here in the US. The sales staff are very helpful and will order items for you. I haven't made it to any of the in-store book signings yet but I've spoken to people who have and they really enjoyed them. Excellent resource for mystery fans!

Ratings_icons Wonderful place for mystery fans

I don't know how the big box stores haven't pushed this lovley gem out, but I'm certainly glad! They have great service, are bright and clean (no dingy lighting and dirty shelves here!), and are well-stocked. They've got a great e-newsletter to keep you abreast of all the wonderful events they host, and they are a great source for signed volumes!!!!

This store has a lot of mystery books and some rare and out of print books to choose from, but you are going to have to pay extra for the hard to find out of print book, but if you love books like I do then it's totally worth it.
