Looking small from the outside, Pacific Karate has a nice sized room inside where Master John Gehosky teaches many classes. He is both the instructor of all the classes held here, as well as the owner. John explains that he has always been fascinated with martial arts and has been doing it for 34 years. It is a great way to stay in shape, and one of the nice things about this kind of martial art is that you don't need a partner.

Not only is it for the body, but also the mind and spirit. John says that one of the reasons for it is to build a peaceful confidence. ??That is what it is all about.? John says, ??Once you master self defense, you don't have to prove yourself anymore.? It is supposed to be free of ego, and focused on inner peace. John told me it is a lifetime endeavor, and he keeps learning things himself, bringing himself back to the main point of karate. Pacific Karate offers classes for adults and children, so if you are looking to get into a martial art taught by someone who has been doing it for a long time, check out Pacific Karate.
