My trusted mechanic in town sold his shop, searched around and found S & D. They do great work, stand behind it and the price is reasonable. Can't believe the negative comments on here. Reminds me of when I fixed a friends car for free as a favor and she moaned and whined about the price of the parts. If you drive a Beemer you will pay an arm and a leg for anything. Heck, the plastic centercaps on a BMW go for 30 bucks a piece at the dealer. A simple radio knob costs 10-40 bucks. If you want it done fast and cheap go somewhere else, if you want it done right visit Scott.

Anytime I need any auto repairs I call S & D Automotive. I have known Scott for over 4 yrs and he has always been honest with me. The quality of service is far above anyone else and they go above and beyond, by giving me a ride home if I need it. I trust them with my car and would recommend them to anyone.

I was just at Scott's shop in Cameron Park...He is so awesome and honest. I have a bad fluid leak and at no charge he located and it and told me the truth.

I trust Scott for all my automotive needs. He is sharp (with over 40 years experience) and very polite. I have sent all my family to Scott and they all feel the same as I.

We have taken all our cars to S and D Automotive since they opened. We have always been treated respectfully and they have done an excellent job with both maintence and repairs. Its nice to have the owners at the site and in charge of quality control. I would recc. this business to all car owners who are in need of service on their cars.

Today, I took my daughter's car in because it wouldn't pass smog. Scott (the owner) worked with me to keep the cost down, then when it came time to pay, he discounted the part needed, which saved my daughter a nice chunk of change. \r

That experience just reminded my why I like to do business with S&D and why I like the owner to be on site.

My un-used abused 1971 porsche sat out on my rural property for nine years, slowing sinking into the ground. I decided to give it to my son for his B'day, if it could be resuscitated, S & D worked a miracle, especially in clearing out dead flora and fauna that had accumulated from my neglect.. The cost was what I expected for such a major job. The staff was always courteous and efficient. My only problem was teaching my son how to drive a stick-shift.

Pros: Did no work without first checking with me at every step.

Cons: so far---none

I have been getting my cars fixed here since I moved to El Dorado county. My truck has 263,000 miles on it , when something goes wrong with it they have always fixed it right in one day. When my friends ask me if I know a good mechanic I always recommend S&D, and they have all been happy with the service.

Pros: Works done right the first time.

Try to sell you parts that you don't need through being untruthful about the wear of parts. The oldest car repair scam going. Stay away!

Cons: Crooks

In my opinion, S&D Automotive is a rip off, both on the way they charge you and the work they do. Unfortunately, I trusted them with a clutch replacement for my BMW. They replaced the clutch and jammed it badly! Took them one and a half day, using two technicians, to undue their work and damage bunch of other parts. Then they started all over. A week after I took my car in, I got my car back. When I took the car in, I asked the owner, has the tech who will be working on my car done a clutch job before? His answer was ?lots of them?!!! I have lost total confidence in them and will not go back, nor will I recommend them to people I know.

Cons: rip-off

All my dealings with this guy have left me either broken down or having his work repaired elsewhere. Most recently quoted me $125 for a simple part I found for $30 at a local auto-parts store. poor service, horrible customer service.When his work goes bad so does he.

The worst service. They are not honest! What a rip-off! They act like they don't know you if you return with any problem.
