The Yuba Sutter SPCA knowingly and willingly adopted out a cat that had a widespread skin infection, severe, chronic vomiting indicative of an underlying condition and, they should have known, she had a loud heart murmur.

I lost my Persian cat to cancer in October 2014. Ive been looking for another Persian and found the perfect one at the Yuba Sutter SPCA. I adopted Lady/ Sophie from the Yuba Sutter SPCA on Saturday, March 14, 2015 with the understanding that she was six years old, recovering from a flea infestation and had a sensitive stomach that required a special diet. I purchased health insurance for her the following day.

Within the first 38 hours she threw up ten times. On Monday morning, March 16, 2015, she vomited and blood spurted from her nose. I rushed her to SF SPCA who informed me that she has a loud heart murmur and there is an undiagnosed condition beyond a sensitive stomach that is causing her chronic vomiting.

Now, with a heart murmur and expensive diagnostic testing, I am faced with an extraordinary financial burden for pre-existing conditions that Sophies health insurance company wont cover or face the unbearable, heartbreaking task of having to euthanize a second cat within six months.

I brang my cat to this clinic, and although the front desk was nice they didn't go out of there way to advise us on after-care. I wasn't told about possible complications, or instructed much. I believe my cat is having issues and was forced to surf the internet for answers. The clinic is closed until Monday. I googled info that should have been given at the time of service. If anyone else needs info go to :http://www.sfspca.org/veterinary-hospital/veterinary-services/spay-neuter-procedures/post-surgery-care. SF SPCA has a wonderful video that will explain post op care. I'm so annoyed to think that the staff couldn't be bothered to properly explain how to care for my cat. I think they should have adleast given us a pamplet!!!

I was very nervous neutering my 5 year old Chihuahua. Yuba-Sutter Spca Spay-Neuter exceeded my expectations! The vet who took him to the back was very reassuring and seemed to care for my boy's well being. When I picked him up I noticed that they had also trimmed his nails and at no extra cost. I can't remember exactly how much they charged. Around $50 or $60. Other clinics in the area charge $150-$350. Recovery time was about 2 weeks. He was sore the first couple days which is normal obviously. I was very pleased with the care and cost. My family has also had 7 cats spayed at this clinic with no problems. My only issue is that they have a long waiting list. You have to wait several weeks if not months for an appointment.

I have had several experiences with the Y-S SPCA, and all of them have been pleasant. The people have at times been efficient, and at others quite friendly. By that I mean that sometimes they just don't have time for chit-chat--understandably! When they aren't so busy, they're friendly and welcoming. They clearly love animals, and they have always been affectionate toward my cats. No complaints from the cats--surgeries and shots have gone well every time.

Every time I go in there, my heart breaks to see all of the homeless cats. I don't know if I could see that everyday and still smile. My hat is off to the employees there!

It was incredibly busy but all the employees were pleasant, smiling and kind to both me and my cat. The prices were very affordable and the employees worked so quickly that despite the crowd it was not a terrible wait. The woman who helped my cat clearly loves animals.

I recently took my dog to the SPCA to be neutered. After reading these reviews I was a little hesitant but I was pleasantly surprised by the way we were treated. I DID ask about these other reviews and was not treated any different after. No one yelled or got angry. I do understand that there is a risk anytime you perform surgery no matter where it is done. I am Happy with the surgery the SPCA performed on my dog and I will pass this word on to all my friends.

This place is incredible!! The girls there do a wonderful job in spite of how crazy busy they are. Their prices and great care has allowed me to afford keeping my dogs and cats up to date on all their vaccines and preventive maintenance such as heartworm and deworming. Sorry to hear that some people have had a bad experience with their surgery but things can happen and nothing is guaranteed even in human medicine. I work for a human hospital and believe me, things there are not perfect. Good job SPCA keep up your good work and thank you for being there for the animals!!!! I will continue to recommend you to everybody that has four legged children!!!

Wouldd not reccommend this place to anyone. Place kept very dirty and ladies working there have major attitudes. They all act like they belong in high school.

Do NOT trust this people!! They put the staples too close to my dog's urethra, causing him to get a terrible infection, a huge bladder, he went into emergency surgery to save his life, he almost died over thier carelessness. I went into their office to pick up a copy of the release form I had signed, and the lady behaind the counter slammed the copy of it down and she began this yelling spree and screaming at me that I how dare I go in there w/ that attitude (which even if I did have an attitude, there supposed to be professionals) and she threatened thatif I didnt leave right then she was going to have me arrested! I am now having to contact the BBB and consumer protection agencies as well as local newspapers, channels, whatever I can to set the record straight. They mess up my dog and basically tell me to go to hell, they WILL pay for this!!!!!!!!!!
