Another industry standard, frequented by special effects artists. You can also find beauty supplies, professional makeup supplies, costumes, wigs, and hairpieces. As well as a full service salon. They also have on-site makeup classes and seminars for all skill levels led by Maurice Stein and other industry pros. You can rent salon equipment and get themed decorating services and consultations. It is where I go for all my fx suppies, such as foam latex, woochies, silicones, prosaide, etc... The staff is a bit unfriendly but it seems a standard attitude for these types of supply shops. But the selection is huge and worth checking out,

Made a purchase from them online 2 months ago and am still waiting for a refund. It's easier to climb Mt. Everest than to reach a customer service rep; I had left voicemail messages and sent out numerous emails with no response. Finally I reached a woman named Bridget and she could not even estimate when I would receive a refund; she could not even say that I would receive on within a YEAR! Come on, I mean what is up with that? Over a year to wait for a refund on an order that I cancelled within a day or two of placing it? I should have known this company was messed up b/c my order was shipped out to me 3 weeks after I requested it to be cancelled. Now I am still waiting for a refund and who knows how long that will take since Bridget could not even affirm that I would receive it within a year. I will definitely file a complaint with the BBB. The Steins (the family that owns this company) are crooks unless they decide to pay me interest on my money and the money of all of the other customers they are witholding. Buyer Beware and shop elsewhere!

When I lived in Burbank all of the people who would flock to this local store were always a bother, but now that I go there from my new home in the Fairfax District I understand that this store, especially at Halloween time, is worth the trip. Cinema Secrets has the costume you're looking for with all of the necessary make-up and accessories too, and at a reasonable price (competitive at least). The store is crazy crowded, but once you're inside everyone is having fun and enjoying the holiday, or just the fun of dressing up!!

Cinema Secrets has it all. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, they carry all major product lines, and they're ready to help you achieve the look you want. There's free parking in the back, and they have fabulous accessories, tools, and cases, too! Another big bonus - their house brand of makeup is really great as well.

CONS: Stay away during Halloween, unless you're willing to deal with crowds.

This place cannot be beat with the selection of hair care and beauty products they offer. They have wigs, curling irons, and every other item you might need for your hair. The make up products they offer are mainly geared for the film industry, which is great because you can find some really great products for terrific prices. They also have lots of prosthetics for any special effects you might need during Halloween or that gag you are playing on your friends. This is the spot to come to during Halloween when they have a wide variety of costumes and accessories. But even when it's not Halloween they still have a good stock of costumes for sale.

Yes it's true that this is for beautification and for ladies to come do their hair. They thing I enjoy
is that I've never seen such a huge assortment of special makeup effects products. We're talking foam latex masks, and prosthetics. Woochie bald caps and pancake makeup. If it's Halloween, prepare for
cram time as this place is riddled with freaks who are waiting to show their true selves, but getting decked out in some oddball costume. You can rent or buy costumes by the way, and I think it's a great spot in the Valley to go if you are shooting a science fiction film that requires some major effects or if you have a character that needs to be done up. I highly recommend checking this place out for yourself, you won't be dissapointed.

this place has almost ALL your make-up needs. If you need help they have proffesional make-up artists available for private sessions or you can just go in there and pick up what you need. Something else that's cool is that they have thier own line of make-up made for the camera (wink wink to all you actresses out there!)
