I called Georgette and made an appt because she said she had the dress I wanted at her shop. When my brother and I went in she said I must have misunderstood her, that she never said that..I blew it off and and asked her how long it would take for her to get the dress in as my wedding was 5 months away. She said no problem, it takes 3 months. Well 3 months and one day later I called to see if my dress had come in. The women who answered the phone said "NOPE" not in yet, looks like the" ship" date is May 16th. I could'nt believe what I was hearing. She said she had a confirmation of this date. I asked what date was the confirmation sent, she said it had no date. BS,every confirmation has a date on it..Anyway, I told her I was told it would only take 3 months for the dress to come in..She said sometimes it takes longer, I said 2 months longer!!!I asked her when the order was placed..She said"right away"I said on what date!!!She said I dont know the owner placed the order. I told her if I had known that it was going to take 5 months I would NOT have ordered the dress. She said" we did'nt force you to order a dress" And that was her reply no more no less..These people are LIARS and they are RUDE. PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these liars. They are horrible.

OMG I thought I was the only one having a nightmare with this store! I purchased a maid of honor dress on my own at the Antioch store for an 8/01/09 and am still having problems!!! My dress too was not arriving on time (it was a month past the initial date) and Jessica, who is the owner's daughter btw, never returned phone calls and decided to close the store for like a week without letting me know the status of my dress!!!! So its a week before the event and she still hasn't tracked where the heck my dress is!!!! She advises me "you are free to shop around for another dress and if it doesn't come in my monday i'll give you your money back" So a week before my event with a ton of other things to do I find myself at my wits end looking for a maid of honor dress i can buy off a rack somewhere, in the right color!!! Luckily, I find one...and on Monday Jessica tells me she tracked the dress and it will be here on Wednesday...I told her i took her advice and found another...that even if it came on wednesday, i wouldn't have time to come in last minute, after work to get alterations done. She said it would be ok and give me my money back anyway, but I needed to come into the store to sign something. I should've known better!!! She had me write down my credit card number to "reimburse" my money and that she would send the dress back to the manufacturer. I even called a few days later to verify the reimbursement had been made and she said so. I filed a credit card dispute but they can't do anything since I signed the receipt with policy disclosures "all sales final." So now, 3 months later, I have to pay $200 for a dress that I can never wear again, come on a bridesmaid dress, and Jessica's is completely denying her word to refund my money. Anyone else interested in going to court with me against this merchant??

I took my dress to a "posh" alterations shop...to make a long story short, I ended up taking my dress to Paper and Petals for the final alterations. I was very nervous when I initially came to Papers and Petals because I did not have good luck with the alterations made on the dress before. I knew exactly what I wanted done, and how I wanted the dress to fit. Georgette was very kind and understanding to my needs. The alterations lady was amazing! She pinned the dress exactly the way I wanted it to look. I came back just one week later and it was perfect, nothing else needed to be fixed. I should advise that ALOT of work had to be done on the dress. I was very impressed that she managed to complete it all in 7 days. All of the sales associates which I met were very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in the details of my wedding. I ended up taking the dress for my rehearsal dinner here to ensure a perfect fit. I regret not purchasing my wedding dress here. They have a wide selection of wedding gowns and mother of the bride dresses. Thank you so much Gerogette!!!

A wedding is supposed to be the most joyous occasion ever. Not in this case. Papers & Petals in Antioch, CA (same owners) has been nothing but a NIGHTMARE!!! It's 3 weeks until my wedding not only is my dress still not here but my bridesmaids (6), jr. bridesmaids (2) and mother of the groom's dresses aren't here either! I wish I had read reviews of this place before hand! The "co-owner" who runs the shop there is a COMPLETE idiot and a compulsive liar. My dress was supposed to be here 3 weeks ago and all the other dresses the week to follow. The day my dress was supposed to be in she started with excuse #1 then when my dress was supposed to be there again excuse #2, now we're on try 5 and it's "well, I recieve everything COD, so I have to close the shop down and go get a cashier's check because they don't tell me the price before they come". I called UPS today got the COD price called and gave it to her. Well now we're still waiting, when the dresses comes we're checking for damage and getting the dresses the hell out of there!!! To top things off I was measured COMPLETELY wrong and when my dress gets here there's a 90% chance it will be too small. If the dresses aren't here by the end of this week we're bringing in a lawyer and we ARE calling the better business bureau.
BTW, this store branch is closing down now, looking for another location . . . So if you're planning on getting married and actually want a dress before the wedding happens STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!

PLUS speaking to the other brides in the store they were ALL having the same problems with the store!

I had a really bad experience with Georgette. When I went in there I was looking for a specific dress that was from Spain. I was told that I could get it NO PROBLEM. Not only that, it would be here at the end of April 2009 with a June 2009 wedding if I spend 300.00 dollars extra for the rush delivery. The dress was what I wanted and there was no other place around that carried the maker of the dress. I paid in full - mistake!! As soon as I paid she could care less about me. May 1, 2009 I called and she told me it would be here at the end of May 2009. Her famous words are "It's out of my control" and she makes you signe a contract stating that if things were "out of her control" she was not responsible. DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT!!! She has you under her mercy because you paid and she can do whatever she wants as long as she says "it's out of my control". I called several times after June 1, 2009 and she lied to me about when the dress will be in. For example; she said in 10 days because it was stuck in customs, in 10 more days because now it is out of customs and it is getting shipped to the maker in New York, 5 more days because it needed to ship from New York, 5 more days because the shipment from New York is taking longer, and on and on - lie after lie.

I asked for tracking and it was not given to me via e-mail like I asked. I called daily at the end of June and finally got her to give me information (number for the maker of my dress). I called and they told me that they did not know why she was playing this game. That is what it is with her - a game. When I got my dress on June 27, 2009 I asked from my 300.00 rush charge back and she has not give it to me. She was so rude and even told me that she would not charge me 45.00 for the Fedex to get it to her shop from New York. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!

She needs to be closed down and I sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. If you have a problem I think you should do the same so she gets the picture. By the way - her business is not back by the Bureau.

At the time of purchase, I informed Georgette at Papers and Petals of my wedding date she told me the bridesmaid dresses will arrive on time. I agreed to the delivery date, read the contract, signed it and placed my order.

Ten days later, Georgette contacted me for a rush fee in order for the dresses to arrive on time. I querried her about her delay in contacting me but no answer was given. When asked to confirm a delivery date, Georgette said she would get back to me the next day which did not happen. I initiated to call her the following day only to get a rough estimate. My fiance called and was given yet another arrival date.

I told Georgette I ONLY agreed to the additional fee if she could confirm and reassure me of the new arrival date in writing for my protection, in fear of any inaction from her side which could cause further delays. Unfortunately, Georgette refused and stated: ??life is not a guarantee and that refunds are only permitted if the dresses failed to arrive at all.? I told her this would be too risky for anyone??s once in a lifetime event but she said that was how things work.

The way things work is the contract is only binding when the present purchasing conditions not changed; that is, the delivery date is unchanged as stated at the time of purchase. But when I was contacted 10 days later regarding a rush fee, this qualifies for a change of condition and as a consumer, I believe I have the rights to cancel my order.

??Life may not be a guarantee? but business should. Papers and Petals has been in the wedding business for many years; Georgette should be well aware of all the manufacturing time frames required for the merchandises to arrive on time. I shouldn??t be liable for her delay in placing her order with the manufacture or any mishaps happened on her side.

I am disputing this charge with Visa. Their customer care professional who contacted Georgette for her side of the story informed me little had been established since she was ??very nasty? in tone and insisted on only talking to a supervisor. Make your own judgement but my advice is try the dresses there then buy online.

The lady there had her daughter there who was running around in and out of the rooms and playing with the cash register while she was trying to check me out. The first experience was not so bad but it got soooo bad later. When calling to find out when my dresses were to be delivered she simply didn't know. We had a rush cut for my mothers dress which was promised to me in 8 weeks and possibly sooner. My other girls dresses were to be delivered in 12 weeks. Not only is my mothers dress not here 3 months later but now I am not sure my brides maids dresses will be here in time for the wedding. I asked several times if she had a tracking number for the dress that was supposed to be on its way, she said no we never get tracking numbers. I contacted Gorgette at the Burlingame store and she was able to look up the dress in no time and found out that the lady at the Antioch store had just called and did a rush a week after she promised it would be here, and there was a tracking number. Overall do not go to the Antioch store she doesn't care about anything but getting your money and is a flat out liar.

I walked in to the store without an appointment, which apparently equals to breaking and entering to those people, because I was literally asked to leave the store and not come back unless I have an appointment even though there almost weren't any customers in the store at the time! Who the heck do they think they are?!

When I initially talked to a sales person there, I even think she was the owner of the store too, she originally told me one price, which I liked and gave her my business. When I came back to pick up my dresses, I was told absolutely different price, and wouldn't you know it 4 times more than the original price. I said "wait just a minute, before you told me different price", but she was like "I couldn't have said that" Well, I am definitely not coming back there again! Lie to me once - shame on you, lie to me twice - shame on me. My advice to all the ladies - think twice before considering that store!

Terrible! Just terrible! I walked in to the store without an appointment, which apparently equals to breaking and entering to those people, because I was literally asked to leave the store and not come back unless I have an appointment even though there almost weren't any customers in the store at the time! Who the heck do they think they are?!

Georgette provides individual attention and has a great gown selection. She doesn't rush you through the process of choosing a gown selection and allows you to look freely in her store. With the friendly service and individual attention to each customer, I would recommend anyone looking for a nice gown to go to this store first. My gown came in in the correct size and was perfectly altered for length. When I chose to purchase jewelry at another store and went back to see if it matched, she happily got the gown. I was just so happy with my experience.

Georgette and her staff are absolutely fantastic! I have had nothing but the best experience here. The bridal gown selection is amazing, gowns were delivered on time (my bridal gown, my mother's gown, and my future mother in law's gown were all purchased here), and alterations were seamless and on time. The staff are very helpful and patient and flexible with their time. Other bridal stores I went to with appointments limited my dress fittings to 3-4 gowns but at Papers and Petals, I tried on at least 10-12 gowns in a very relaxed manner. I would highly recommend visiting this store if you are looking for a wonderful selection of gowns for most all occasions. p.s. The jewelry was very tasteful and my mom was able to find nice pieces that matched her soft lilac gown perfectly.

This is an overdue review highly recommending Paper & Petals. I was under a tight deadline to find a dress and needed specialized alterations. The staff at Paper & Petals were very personable, knowledgeable, positive and confident. The one trait that truly stands out above all the rest was how personalized my experience was. I have no doubt that they worked with dozens, perhaps hundreds of brides during the few months that they were working with me. However, every time I call or came in, I always felt like I was a priority and that my dress and my wedding were of utmost importance to them. Georgette and her staff knew me - my name, situation and needs. I felt like I was dealing with people who truly cared. They were always as flexible and accommodating as they could be. I had a wonderful wedding, a beautiful dress and a great experience with the fantastic staff at Paper & Petals.

I honestly cannot thank Georgette enough for being an absolute life-saver and ensuring that my wedding dress, my bridesmaids' dresses, and my mom's dress were absolutely perfect!!! I had the MOST awful experience with an online bridal vendor, and I came into Georgette's shop in tears fearing that nothing could be done to fix my situation. Georgette and her staff helped to put me at ease, and fixed the entire situation for me immediately. The prices were reasonable, and most importantly, they treated me with the sort of consideration, compassion, respect, and professionalism that a customer deserves. As far as I'm concerned, Georgette is an absolute expert at what she does and has a way of making everyone (including my mom!) feel at ease regardless of body type or budget. Georgette is like a part of my family now, and I can't imagine ever going to another bridal/evening gown store again!

But I have to say that it was well worth it and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.. I received excellent one on one service the moment I entered the store, and never once felt that I was taking up too much time as I tried on dress after dress after dress. And after making the long drive to try on the dress that I thought was the dress of my dreams, Georgette (the owner) actually found one that was even more beautiful and that fit my style to a tee. And she was right-I've never felt so beautiful in my life as the day of my wedding. The dress was amazing and everyone commented that it was one of the most beautiful dresses they've ever seen. I truly felt like a princess that day, and I owe much of that to Georgette and her staff. I have been all over the Bay Area looking for a wedding dress and the VERY BEST experience I had by far was at Paper and Petals in Burlingame. They have a very extensive collection of dresses on hand in a wide variety of price points, so there is a lot to try on and the staff are very helpful. Both Georgette and Nada know their collection of dresses very well. They each did a great job of listening to what I wanted and pointed me in the exact right direction for what I wanted (none of that bs about how great some dress looked on my that was 2x what I wanted to spend). They were patient and helpful as I was trying on the dresses and helped me to figure out what fit me the best. I am delighted with the experience I had and equally delighted with the dress I eventually ordered. If I was to do it all over again, I would have started at this store first and saved myself a lot of time and effort.

Then the gal helping us would just randomly leave, and we were left there looking dumb. We were all grossly mismeasuered 4 sizes to big.
When we made an appointment to get the dresses, they did not know where they were, then when they were found, they were given to us folded in the plastic bag they were shipped in! They were not hung, or steamed or anything.
Then when we tried to talk to the owner, she told us she did not have time for us!

The owner is rude, and is never around, and never apologizes for anything. Does not seem to know how to run business....
The employees do not know what they are doing.
They screwed up our order, and are not willing to do anything about it, other than argue on the phone.
Based on the other reviews, we are not the first!

I am a size 2-4 and was sent a size 14 bridesmaid dress. They said the dress order was based on my measurements but I had a good 5 inches of fabric and then some at every measurement spot. After notifying the bride I called them (I did not want the bride to have to deal with it), and they were polite but insisted they were right, the tailor that took my measurements was wrong, and refused to help rectify the situation, except to say that if I wanted to come in the day before the wedding to have it altered they would charge me $45 for each side, not including having the bust and straps altered at all. After already spending a good deal of money on the dress, this of course is not going to make me happy. Their absolute refusal to help the situation and their repeated comments that the whole thing was my fault, I was wrong, and their attitude that they basically didn't care, that it was not their problem made dealing with them less than pleasant. After reading the comment about the horrible alterations they do below, (thank you to that person for the warning) I am not dealing with them again, and am going to have to take the dress to a respectable place to be fixed.

I just wanted to write a review on behalf of Papers&Petals Bridal. I had bought my wedding gown from the Antioch location back in January of this year, excellent service. The consultant who helped me was just wonderful, she was right on top of my likes and dislikes of my vision on my bridal gown. I was so pleased with her service that I had all of my bridal party get their dresses there, not to mention even the Moms. But I do have to say one thing about the seamstress they had. Now, it has nothing to do with the owners. Because I saw the nasty reviews on the person that wrote about them on behalf of her. I had made a request on doing a change and she simply said to me "Oh that's impossible". The owners reassured me that it would get done. If I recall correctly they sent it to the other store.To have the other seamstress do the work and it came out beautifully. By the way to the bride who complained about her dress coming in a small package, mine did to but they said that's how it's shipped. They don't open it till the bride comes in for first fitting,so that we see that it hasn't been touched. I honestly preferred that no one touched it before me. So I suggest, go down there before you judge them.

They quoted her $180 a person for the dress, which was quite a good quote condidering everywhere else she saw was about $250 and above. When everythign was said and done, each dress was about $330! They overcharged us for EVERYTHNG. Extra length charge (which is bogus considering all those bridesmaids dresses come ridiculously long as is), a hemming charge AND an alteration charge- apparently they charge seperately for that now. Also, when the maid of honor was trying on her dress, she told the woman that it was a bit too tight, and the woman wanted to take it in (make it smaller). The M.O.H. still said that the dress was already tight and that it did not need to be taken in. We got to the next fitting and the woman had taken the dress in so much that the M.O.H. could not even breath or fit a bra on underneath. Then the woman had the gaul to ask "well, is there any chance you may have gained weight since you were measured?"
Beyond the overcharging, the customer service was seriously bad. The first time i went in (with an appointment) I was ignored for about 20 minutes while they were helping a woman with a fitting. I know they were busy, but all they had to do was pop their head out and say "i'll be with you in a minute." I decided to leave and come back, and when I was walking outside I could see the women working on the fitting inside giving me death stares. She didn't speak English and went inside the dressing room to tell the consultant. All I heard was "Tell her to wait!" Half an hour later the owner of the store came in with thirty of her family members of all ages that she was dressing for a wedding. She did not apologize for being late for our appointment and spent half her time with her family doing things for them. She was horrible. It was the worst customer service I've experienced. She was even rude to my mother. I would not reccommend shopping there.

Half an hour later the owner of the store came in with thirty of her family members of all ages that she was dressing for a wedding. She did not apologize for being late for our appointment and spent half her time with her family doing things for them. She was horrible. It was the worst customer service I've experienced. She was even rude to my mother. I would not reccommend shopping there.

I'm sorry for the brides that did have a bad experience..I'm a maid of honor in my friends wedding. We went to the store in Antioch, being not many bridal stores in the area we tried it out...our first experience was o.k. But we were ignored upon walking in the store then again for about a half an hour, only till we started taking dresses off the racks ourselves and going in the dressing room, we got the owner to notice us. We found a dress put down the first payment took measurements and left..The lady told us that she'd give us 10% off our bridesmaids dresses if we bought them there. So that bringing us back into the store to meet the mother of the owner who was sewing the alterations herself. She was not only soo rude to us but also continued to tell the mother of the bride how much weight she needed to lose. She also added money to the final price without any explanation. Then when we did ask she had no answer except an um and a silence then saying tax and some other stuff.. when our original dress of 140 dollars came to a grand total of almost 500...we canceled everything except the wedding dress which we were told no refunds on..that's fine cause it was listed on the paper print out. But my bride was overhearing some girls at a restaurant which just picked up there dresses from there for the sisters wedding and they said that they also had a horrible experience with the alterations that they were bunched up in places.The the dresses at the bottom were uneven. That they had to take them somewhere else after paying extra money to have them altered there and pay more money to other alteration shop. This was a badddd experience.

I am very disappointed at the service I have received at Paper & Petals! I found the dress, I was looking for on the designers website. They recommended Paper & Petals as a retailer. I made my appointment and everything went ok. I ordered my dress and made another appointment for when it arrived. At this appointment I waited some 25 minutes till I was seen. I figured she was a little busy, but when she came to show me my room and dress I was highly upset to see my wedding dress in its plastic packaging, laying on the floor, which the dress was in a about a 2 feet by 2 feet worth of space! My maid of honor and I opened the dress and pulled it out. The dress was inside out and what a hassle to flip it. Then she had help me in it and lace the back. I had the dress on for about 20 minutes before the owner even came to see how I was. I felt like she was helping other brides that were interested in gowns because, she already had the sale from me. No follow through what so ever! I finally took the dress off and no hanger to put my dress on so I had to leave it on the floor. By this time I'm very upset because being a bride this is a special moment to try your wedding dress on for the first time. I would think that my dress should have been on a hanger, steamed and waiting for me. I would never recommend Paper & Petals to any bride!

Georgette and her staff were soo helpful in me finding the perfect dress and also helping me get bridesmaids dresses and my mothers dress all in time for my wedding!!!

Horrible experience there!! DON'T get sucked in by initial niceties! Ordered my wedding dress 1/06 - at the time was unsure whether or not I wanted to add buttons down the back or lower the back to an angle. When I went in for 1st fitting (May?) all was well and I told them I wasn't interested in the other alterations. At the 2nd fitting, I went to pay and there was a $100 charge for ordering buttons!!! I NEVER told anyone to order $100 buttons! Owner was snotty about it. No apology - simply: "The buttons were ordered - you'll have to pay." As if they couldn't have made a mistake-it was my problem. We were in a rush so had to leave. Called back the next day and was told by the 'snotty' owner again (after arguing with me) that I had to deal with original sales assoc. When I did (the next day) she said that since there was a misunderstanding, they usually charge $125 to press the dress - she would simply not charge me to press it. I said OK. Only after I got off the phone did I realize pressing was a ridiculous charge that most salons do for free.

Didn't want to make more ruckus since they still had my dress. At same time, my cousin had ordered wedding & bridesmaid dresses through P&P (and had her own separate set of problems with them). I waited 'til my cousin got her dress & found they never charged her for pressing. THE LIARS - THEY DON'T CHARGE FOR THIS! After picking up my dress, I tried to address this lying and inconsistency and was met with a ridiculous amount of rudeness. I couldn't believe it. They refused to credit me the $100. After trying to fight it in numerous ways, I'm still out $100 and I've never even SEEN the buttons I was charged for!

UNREAL - they shouldn't be in business. Stay far, far away.

I was sad to read the review referring to Georgette. I was on a limited budget when I went to this store for my dress. Georgette worked with me very graciously. I found two dresses I loved and she advised me to remember that debt was not a good way to start a marriage. I took her advice and bought the cheaper dress - which I'm glad I did!! Their service was great and I felt that by advising me to buy the cheaper dress she was truly wanting to help me find the best things!! Props to this store! I'm taking my best friend back this saturday for a fitting for her upcoming wedding!!!

Very unimpressed with management. I would not recommend renting tuxes for yourself or your groomsmen here -- go to a place that deals with tuxes especially like Selix.

DO NOT go to this store. They LIE and the customer service is HORRIBLE! They told me the sample dress I ordered would take a week and it took over 6 weeks. It came in the weekend before Christmas. They expected me to go in to try it on over the holidays and threatened to send it back before I could get there. This is after they charged me $75 to bring in the dress. They told me if I didn't buy the dress from them I could apply my $75 to other items in the store. I didn't buy the dress from them, tried to apply my credit and they wouldn't let me. They said they would only credit me IF I bought the dress there, which was a completely different story. They were rude, unaccommodating, and I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to have to deal with them.

However, when it came time to look at the proofs, they made it very difficult for us as they would only send us part of the invitation each time. When we finally got the invitation finalized, they charged us an extra $80 for the proofs and never mentioned to us that the proofs would cost this much. When we went to discuss with them this extra charge, the owner was very rude with us and after 30 minutes of arguing and trying to determine how they arrived at the $80 charge, the owner made up a lie and said that they charge a standard $40 fee per proof and that we got 2 proofs. If that was the case, why not tell me right at the beginning not after 30 minutes??? I know for a fact that they messed up when contacting the invitation printer for the proofs and they passed that cost of their mistake on to us rather than admitting their mistake. Avoid this place.

Very cute name for a bridal store. This is what actually attracted me to come here and shop for a wedding dress. They offer a wide variety of bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. They also have mothe of the bride dresses, invitations, and small accessories. I thought I was in for a treat. It was awful. The lady in the store was one of the worst people. She had such a bad attitude if you could not find what you are looking for. I asked for a sample of one of the dresses from the catalog, and she said she would get it. But she never did. It seemed like she did not want my business, so I decided to go elsewhere. The prices are very outrageous too. I recommend another store for a sweet bridal experience.

She never tells you the truth about how you look. She would just smile and say that you look wonderful. She did show me a lot of dress samples, but told me I looked beautiful in all of them. She never told me he truth about how I looked. She was only interested in me buying a gown from her.
