The questions should be, "What was right about the experience?" From the start everything went sideways. When we walked in to it took them at least 15 maybe 20 minutes to acknowledge that we were even there. That is how long it took to get a menu. We should have left then. We had to ask the waiter several times for the same items (extra butter, more water, etc.) It took an hour to get our food and when we finally got the food the orders were not complete. On one of the orders we were missing a side (macaroni and cheese) and on my order they gave me the sides but then I waited for an additional 15 minutes for the main course (smothered chicken which was actually fried chicken with gravy thrown on top of it). When it was time to pay the bill we waited at least 15 minutes just to pay the bill. They also offered us free desert but when we saw that it was taking a while to pay the bill we decided to just leave and get this nightmare over.

My co-workers and I have gone to this restaurant several times during lunchtime. My favorite - fried chicken, collard greens, macaroni & cheese with homemade biscuits w/gravy. Has a southern atmosphere and of course all their food is cooked southern style.

The food is very delicious. From breakfast to dinner the service is excellent. The atmosphere is charming and has a in home feeling. From the fried fish to the chitterlings it is all very tasty. A sweet tea is served with the lunch special, which is very affordable. You get one entree choice and two side, 2 cornbread muffins and a glass of sweet tea for around $8 to $10. The waiters are very friendly and you can't beat that. I would also recommend the chicken and waffles for breakfast, they are mouth watering. Please give it a try you won't be disappointed. Dine in or take out.

Everytime I go here I usually get the seafood platter which is about $13 and it is so good. You get three pieces of fich, shrimp, oysters and hush puppies. I don't like oyster so I usually get more shrimp and they have no problem with that. Customer Service is great! Delicious Mississippi Soul Food!

I've been disappointed many times here in the big city by what people call Soul Food. It's never really authentic, at least to my taste. What self-respecting Southerner would ever eat chicken with a waffle, I ask you? But this place will be the place I go every New Year's Day for my ritual black-eyed peas and greens for good luck and money, respectively. That is, until I find something that reminds me more of home (not likely). Plus, I had my first date with my honey there!
