My parents grew up in the Marina and they have been linked to Lucca's for years. You walk in the front door and you just get enveloped in the smell of the Italian food waiting inside. They have the best deli meats and cheeses and be sure

The meats are all top quality (Boars Head, etc.). The bread is made fresh daily. Every kind of specialty Italian deli meat & cheese you can imagine along with all those other hard to find Italian items necessary for a true Italian meal.
The Pizzeria offers top quality pizzas and made to order subs. My favorite is the `Cortina's Special?? with dry salami, cotto salami, capicolla, mortadella, provolone cheese with their own vinaigrette on a freshly made French roll. I live quite a few miles away, so I usually have one there and order one to-go for lunch the next day. The pizzas are like nothing you will find this side of Italy. The crust is fresh and not too thick, but not too thin. The toppings are all fresh, high quality meats and veggies with generous amounts of cheeses right from the market??s deli case. Take some home; it??s just as good the next day!

Pros: Pizza, Sub Sandwiches, Deli
Cons: Closed Tuesdays :-(
This restaurant has the best lasagna in town, but what really gets me to drive out here is their canolis. This is one of the few places around that has them and they are worth it.
4Mayonnaise and mustard on a sub? Yecchhhh!!!! You won't get that at Cortina's unless you ask for it and then they'll look at you like you're from Mars, or at least Southern California. Subway be damned! These are subs (hoagies, grinders, etc.) straight from the East Coast to your tummy using top notch meats and fresh Italian bread. Try the Cortina's special and you'll be whisked instantly to Joisey.

The market side has imported Italian foods, and I recommend purchasing pizza dough to make pizza at home. It's inexpensive and really good. the restaurant side has fabulous eggplant parmesan and meatball sandwiches and a sub called the Cortina's special which is great! They also make a good antipasto salad. Be advised they only take cash at the restaurant so make sure to hit the ATM!

Cortina's makes my favorite lasagne. It has both sausage and ground beef with plenty of cheeses and sauce. Their pizza is authentic Italian with home made sauce and plenty of cheese.
If you get there early you can grab a cannolli, filled with fresh ricotta cheese and sugar. And if you get there really early they may have some freshly baked Italian bread and some black-and-white cookies left.
The salads and side dishes are always fresh. Eat in or take out.

This is a nice market with lots of variety when it comes of the italian stuff. It was nice to find some of my favorites that just can't be foung at the local super market.
3This store has a good selection of food but the prices are higher than other italian markets I have been. Lots of Olive oils for deal prices (1 gallon for 10 $!) and fresh cut hams and salami, fresh bread and lots of pasta.
