If you are looking for a vet in the Westminster area, this is the place to go! I had such a positive experience from the front staff to the vet tech to the veterinarian, everyone was more than friendly and welcoming to new patients.

I just moved to the area and researched many animal hospitals before deciding on Westminster Vet, I really could not be more happy with my choice either. Both staff and vets are caring and friendly. The prices are reasonable and they will work with you on pricing and payments too.

I have been a long time customer of Westminster and their service has always been top-notch. Our little dog has had numerous medical issues over her life and I trusted Dr. Tateishi and the staff completely with her care.

Love Westminster. I feel so grateful to have you all close by! Our last vet was a crook- charged us for everything he could. But after coming to Westminster a few times now with my dogs, I feel like we are in much better hands!

Dr. Barnes has been ideal for our care of rabbits. We used to Dr. Dielo before she transferred and we apprehensive about the new doctor. But Dr. Barnes has proven very knowledgeable as well as caring. The clinic itself has a wonderful staff. Some of the staff is still learning but that is what makes it a good clinic. The willingness to teach and train is a value to the establishment.

We have been associated with Westminster Veterinary Group for more than ten years. Throughout those ten years, we have had five different dogs that we??ve taken to their facility for routine wellness exams or just when they needed some tender loving care. Dr. Greenberg and her staff, the associate doctors, vet techs, caretakers and front office personnel, have always been very supportive and friendly and have shown genuine compassion throughout the years. All I can say is we wouldn't take my dogs any where else!

I have already written a detailed review of the Westminster Veterinary Group on Yelp!, but since they are so wonderful I feel the need to review them again :)

The Westminster Veterinary Group is by far the absolute best veterinary hospital around. The facilities are top-notch and the staff is amazing. I have been there dozens and dozens of times and never had a bad experience. The staff is always so friendly and caring. Whenever I call with a question a vet tech or a vet always calls me right back. Sometimes there is a long wait (no different than my doctor's office or the dentist), but if you have an emergency they will see you immediately.

Some people are commenting on how expensive the Westminster Veterinary Group is. In my experience they are no more expensive than any other vet I have been to, and if they are, it's well worth it for the quality of care your pet receives. Animals are members of the family and they deserve the best care possible!

People have also commented that the vets push expensive treatments and medicines on your pet that they do not actually need. It is the vet's job to inform you of all of the possible treatments and medicines available to your pet. They never force anything on your pet or try to make you feel guilty for electing to not do a test/treatmeant/procedure. The vet's are not after your money, they just want to give the best care possible to your pet.

If you have exotic pets I highly recommend the Westminster Veterinary Group. Exotics make up a large part of their practice. I have been bringing my rats to them for the past two years and could not be happier or more impressed with the care they have recieved.

There are no staff members that stay over night with the sick pets, and that is my only complaint. They make sure that you are aware of this though, and offer to have your pet stay at an emergency vet overnight if you'd like.

To sum it up, I highly recommend the Westminster Veterinary Group. The entire staff is wonderful, especially Dr. Dielo and Dr. Greenburg. The facilities are top of the line and your pet will always recieve the best possible care. They specialize in exotics and are even open on Sunday! They also help rehabiliate wildlife :)

I would just like to add that I had a pet put to sleep last month, and another one put to sleep today (both had cancerous tumors). The staff was so compassionate and caring. I was honestly touched by how kind and sweet they were to me. They are all such genuinely nice people.

My family and I love the Westminster Veterinary Group! I will never take any of my current or future pets anywhere else!

Response from this business:

Thank you for the positive feedback we truly appreciate it!

I know everyone is commenting on how expensive this veterinary office is. It is expensive... but why would anyone try to go cheap for medical care of someone you love? I consider my pets family members and I want the best service possible for them.
Last Thursday I noticed my cat was sitting in his litterbox and not able to urinate. I knew exactly what was wrong with him because I lost his brother last year to the same problem. I found the closest vet office that was open (no one else would be open at 7:30am!) and rushed him there. When I got there, there were 4 or 5 other clients in front of me who had appointments. The vet techs checked him in before anyone else because they knew he had an emergency. They explained to me that the doctor doesn't normally get in until 9am so I waited while the techs took care of him as best they could. The doctor rushed in - even earlier than her normal time and was able to unblock him with the least pain as possible - no catheter. A few reviews state how they offer services to get more money... They did offer to keep him overnight on IV fluids, and to make sure he was able to urinate by himself. They told me it wasn't necessary but I took their offer. It cost me an extra few hundred.. but it was a precaution to make sure my kitty was completely better! I would pay for that.
I picked my cat up the next day and he was the happiest, healthiest I've ever seen him. They sent him home with a special diet to prevent any problems from arising again. He's all better :)
In comparison, a year ago when my other kitty had this blocking problem, I took him to a local vet which charged me half the cost. I ended up having to do this 3 times (so in the long run it cost more), and because it got so costly and nothing was fixing him, I eventually had to put him to sleep :'( I wonder now - if I had taken him to this vet, would he had gotten better service? Would I still have him? It's a scary thought.
This office will be my cat's permanent veterinarian. It's expensive but 100% worth the cost.

I tried this vets office because the one I had been using didn't seem to have a caring personality toward the animals they treated. There is no dispute that everyone was great with my dog. However, I do have to say they are expensive and try to sell you items and push various tests. I would have continued with this vet had the following not happened. My dog was treated for allergies. One week later I took him in for a re-check, he was doing much better but not great. The doctor stated that if he doesn't get better he would recommended an additional round of Prednisone which the vet said could be done over the phone without an appt. When another week passed and he started getting a little worse, I contacted the office to get a re-fill. When I went to pick it up the charge for 8 pills was $22.00. I questioned why it was so expensive. The front desk girl informed me that they have a minimum "bottling" charge of $22.00 no matter what the cost of the medication is. If anyone has ever had to pay for Prednisone you know that it is very inexpensive. This just didn't seem right that I was paying such a large amount for such little quantity. I expressed my unhappiness about this and said that the least they could do is make a note in our file that if we needed more in the future then the "overpayment" could go towards the next re-fill. The answer was flat out "no". Over the course of three days, we left 2 messages for the office manager, 3 messages for the vet and 2 messages for the owner of the facility without receiving one return call. I have since spoken to a city official with knowledge of the various vet clinics in the area and they too said that this office is one of the most expensive in the area and recommended others to try. If this office would step back and see that they are taking advantage of people that adore their pets. The city of Westminster is not an especially affluent area. Maybe they need to reconsider moving their practice to Newport Beach where they can take their money and not have to worry about being in a business that is suppose to care and help pets and people.

I think that this is a great clinic with a very caring staff. My cat had an emergency on a Sunday morning, and they were able to see him right away. Since this is my regular veterinary office for my cats, all the paperwork was in order and I did not have to scramble looking for a 24 hour emergency pet clinic that I'm sure would have been double the cost. The doctors show genuine concern, including follow up calls to ensure that the pet is recovering well. As for general pricing, I have not compared to other vets but they do have a great, modern facility, so I'm sure they do cost more, but when it's your pet, sometimes it's better to pay more but get great service.

To pay for their nice facility and personnel, they charge premium price and always are selling something that your pet really doesn't need and make you feel bad if you don't want to (or can't) pay for it. They are always pushing something that isn't what you went in for.

Wonderful, caring vets and enthusiastic, friendly employees. The facility is very clean, organized and well-run. They specialize in boarding all types of pets. I routinely board my small dog here, and never have to worry when I am away. The kennels are inside, with plenty of heat or air conditioning. Kennels are very clean. On site groming is also available and they do a great job. They are also open 7 days a week, which makes it easy to pick up your pet when you come home from vacation. Can't say enough good things about them.
