Recommending Dr. Jordan
I have been taking my animals to Dr.Jordan for twenty years. His staff is very friendly and he spends as much time as needed with me and my pets. He is always just coming back from continuing education classes and knows all the new techniques and products. I highly recommend Dr. Jordan to you and your pets.

One of L.A.'s Best Veterinarians
Dr. Jordan has incredible insight and wisdom that comes from his 30+ years as a Veterinarian. I have been a taking my dog to him for 5 years and my cat for 12 years. He has been great for all the care that my pets have needed. Last May I took my dog to see Dr. Jordan for routine check up and I mentioned how destructive my dog can be when I leave the house. Dr. Jordan asked me some specific questions about the behavior of my dog and then talked to be about a new product on the market that can help dogs that have this problem. I tried it and it worked. I no longer worry about leaving my dog alone. Dr. Jordan is not only wise but he also on top of new and innovative products involved in practing animal medicine.

25 years and no complaints
I have known Dr. Jordan since I was a child. He Treated all of our family cats and dogs over the years. My parents still take there Cattle Dog Honey to Melrose La Brea even though they have since moved to Woodland Hills. I am shocked that the previous posters could write such despicable things. Dr Jordan has shown nothing but kindness and compassion to my family and pets. If he was such a horrible DVM, how could he have lasted 30 years?

Stay Away! Warning!
If you love your pet, please do not take your pet to Melrose La Brea Animal Hospital! Two days after adopting my puppy from a breeder I noticed blood in her stool and decided to take her to Melrose La Brea (it's close and in a good neighborhood so I thought it would be reputable). Big mistake! Not only was Dr. Jordan unprofessional, but he is clearly not a knowledgable veterinarian. He was unable to answer (or wrongly answered) the many questions I asked him about the care my new puppy would need (when to vaccinate, when to spay, what to watch out for, what to expect). Furthermore, according to the more reputable vet I took my puppy to later, he did all of the wrong things to treat my puppy. He prescriped several invasive and unnecessary tests and carried them out without asking me any questions about my puppy's allergies, previous vaccinations or anything else. Yes, they were quite expensive, but I'm far more concerned that, god forbid, something had happened to my puppy because of this negligence. Additionally, when I asked about spaying, he told me to wait-- now, after talking with my current veterinarian, I realize that his advice was wrong. I should have spayed her when she was younger because it would have further reduced her risk of developing cancer and would have been less invasive and traumatic for her. The site is also not much to speak of-- it's not particulary inviting, only marginally clean and it is attached to second floor apartments. You can hear the people/animals that live there which is unpleasant and makes you further question the professionalism of the business. All in all, not what you would want for your pet.

BEST VET IN L.A.!!
I have tried 4 vets since I got my little dog in February, and each one has had something wrong with it. Mostly have found uncaring, cold vets... until Dr. Jordan. Simply, the best vet in L.A.! His whole staff was so nice, and compassionate, towards my little dog and I. Being a new dog owner; I have a lot of concerns for my dogs wellbeing, and when he got a little cold rencently; I took him to see Dr. Jordan, and was so thrilled with the results. He was VERY informative on each step he was doing, and took the time to SHOW me how to properly give a dog (liquid medication). I took him in yesterday for an ear infection, and today he is already feeling better. I feel better knowing I found a vet that I trust, and treats us with the compassion my dog and I deserve. THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL, CARING STAFF, AND TO DR. JORDAN!! We will be loyal cumstomers.
Pros: Very caring, professional and close to my house
Cons: nothing

Everything you want in a vet
In PA my cat went through all the tests and in the end was diagnosed with cancer. I was told what signs to look for to know when it got to bad. Once these signs showed up I took my cat in here in CA. They were very accepting of taking on this new patient and allowing me to send the paperwork from one vet to another so the cat and I wouldn't have to go through more testing. I was a mess from the moment I brought her in the door, knowing what had to be done after 11 years together. I've had cold vets over the years and I was so impressed by the compassion and heart the entire staff showed me. He explained her diagnoses to me in a way I understood. After confirming what I expected to happen, I wasn't rushed when I took a few moments for the news to set in. I've seen a lot of vets man handle animals. They even allowed me to come in on a Saturday so I wouldn't have to do it on a work day. Everyone handled her as I would have. It was extremely comforting. I would recommend this entire staff. I was so impressed. Some wrote they were expensive and I did not feel that way at all.
Pros: compastionate and caring.
Cons: None

Cathy Green
Dr Edd Jordann and his staff are knowledgable and caring. I have been a client of his since 1972 and have found that they go the extra mile to take care of our beloved animals. I recently had the sad occasion to have my dog euthanized and Dr. Jordann and his Saturday staff extra spent time with me and my aging and ailing pug. It was a really sad visit but it was handled with the usual caring and attention I have come to expect from Dr. Jordann.

Dr. Jordan is the best
I'm really shocked at the negative reviews I see here. My experience with Dr. Jordan is just the opposite. I had taken my cat to another vet last Spring, and paid a lot of money to be told everything was fine. It wasn't. My cat had developed diabetes and then diabetic neuropathy. He was one sick cat when I brought him to Dr. Jordan. He was so thorough and compassionate, and really took care of my cat in such a loving way. I'd recommend him to anyone. And, by the way, I know his care doesn't come cheap, but he really was half as expensive as the vet I took my cat to before.
Pros: Really loves animals
Cons: Somewhat expensive

best vet ever, so nice and helpful
i don't know why the person below gave this place a bad review. that's bunk. they are very clean and VERY helpful and sweet. dr. jordan is a smart vet who gives you personal attention, which is a lot more than i can say for any other vet i've been to. and my bill wasn't outrageous for shots and deworming - you should expect to pay a lot for a sick pet. come on! this place is awesome, i'll never take my molly anywhere else.
love you dr. jordan!
Pros: parking in back
Cons: nothing
