I'm torn on this spot. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Is the location perfect. Yes! Right next to the Girl & the Fig which scores big points. The staff were not very helpful and not very freindly. We tried to get a late check out and were flat out told no. The hotel was not full so I'm not sure why us checking out an noon vs. 11am was a big deal.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very cozy and clean. We were in the room right over the bar, so there was a little bar noise. But a box fan was provided which drowned out all of it. Comfy bed.

Pros: comfy, cozy, location

Cons: none

It is right on the square, and for that you get traffic noise, parking woes and noise from The Girl and Fig below depending on how late people decide to party. There is no soundproofing whatsoever. The room looked nothing like the picture on this site. I did find the staff to be pleasant, but there are no redeeming features about the hotel I can think of.

Pros: Near restaurants and shopping

Cons: Old rooms, noisy, overpriced

Contrary to publicity - this is not a quiet charming hotel. There is no soundproofing; I could actually hear someone snoring in a neighbouring room. The rooms are very tiny and there are few amenities, i.e. no bathrobes, newspaper that one would expect to find in a high end hotel. They do however charge high end prices - 195$. The staff are friendly but it is quite clear that they are not trained in the hotel business. This hotel is an extremely poor value and I would not recommend it.

This little place is right on the square. It has ghosts, wonderfully furnished rooms, terrific staff and more. Everyone is helpful. The history of the hotel is so interesting as are the journals to read in each room.

The Sonoma Hotel building dates back to 1880, when it opened as a dry-goods store and meeting hall. Today, the property is a cozy, sixteen-room B&B that is located centrally on Sonoma's downtown plaza. Accomodations are small but clean,…
