Van's Bakery in Westminster of Orange County, which is close to ABC market, is NOT A GOOD BAKERY as everyone recommeded since it does not provide a qualified food for customers. On Tuesday, we bought 6 sticky rice cake (Banh Tet) and 2 meat sausages (Cha Lua) for our friends as the gifts and for ourselves. After we tried to taste one piece of Banh Tet, we had to spit it out because it is too sour. Next day, our friends also called us and said Banh Tet are too sour. We felt so ashame about those gifts. My dad called the Van's bakery and let them know about it. Someone at the bakery said that we can exchange them at any Van's Bakeries in Los Angeles or Orange Counties. Since we and our friends live in Los Angeles, we stopped by the Van's Bakery in San Gabriel and asked to exchange those cakes. Someone in this bakery yelled at our friend and said if we bought those cakes in Westminter, we must go there for exchange. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICES.

Please don't sell the cakes which are expired, people will get FOOD POISON. Also please check attitudes of all of your staff. They provide horrible customer services.

Should this bakery worth one star? I don't want people bought the cakes they cannot eat and get yelled at.

So after many recommendations, I decided to try the food at Van's Bakery for myself. I think it was amazing that not only did they sell cake, but they sold dried fruit, meat, croissants, EXTREMELY delicious pandan waffles, and a lot more. Their individual slices of cake are moist and fresh. I especially liked their chocolate strawberry cake! I love how the icing isn't that way too thick sugary junk you get at Albertsons; it's light and easy to eat.
Needless to say I'm going back for more!

I just moved to this area and came across the positive reviews of Vans on the web and decided to try them out.

They have rectangular slices of almost every flavor of cake you could want displayed in a long case. they also have several sizes of round cakes and ice cream cakes. I was told that the ice cream cakes have a layer of cake in them, no crunchies (like Carvel) or fudge (like DQ).

There is also a vast selection of bulk dried fruit and candies. Everything is labeled in Vietnamese so if you are not familiar with the language you'll have to guess at what's in the bins.

I bought four slices of cake and they were average at best. Two words; light and bland. The icing and cake is the same on all varieties. Only the flavorings and colors are changed.

The cake was extremely light, spongy and basically tasteless. The icing was the consistency of cool whip. The pineapple filling in one of the slices was the low-grade corn starchy type that is typical in low-end pastries.

I was pretty disappointed because everything looked so inviting in the case. Oh well, I will be back for an ice cream cake and to try my luck at the bulk candy.

Vans Bakery got the most cake types and design all around. Not only that, Vans Bakery also got plenty of goodies from beef jerky to dried fruit. The only bad thing about Vans Bakery is getting there because there are plenty of bad driver around. I almost got ran over once time when I drop by Vans to get a cake, and I was on the side walk too.
