This restaurant is ok...but really not worth raving about. If you want to go to a good thai food restaurant, there are PLENTY in union city (even across the street!). Prices are decent, the food is decent, the resturant is dim and small.... overall, there are better thai restaurants out there.

My closets friends and I have been here! And I introduced this place to my relatives. We LOVE it here! The food and service is always good. They have the BEST Roti Prata (not sure how you spell it) and the sauce is to die for!!! Just go there and try their food. Almost anything you get from there is good. Except this one fish dish-sorry, I don't remember the name. =)

We have only been there once but we will definitely go back again to try everything else on the menu. We ordered the taro ring; it's not the best we've eaten but it's good enough to satisfy the odd taro craving. The beef satay is authentic; definitely worth coming back for. The meat is juicy and well marinated and the peanut sauce had just the right amount of heat. If only it came with ketupat (a type of rice dumpling), it would be perfect.

Pros: Authentic food; good value; wide variety on the menu; friendly service; easy parking

Cons: Decor could use a little updating but that's why it's good value, right?

The array of choices on the menu may seem a bit overwhelming at first glance, but it's definitely worth looking through. As someone unfamiliar with the various types dishes, having the pictures on the menu was extremely helpful. Although the service was prompt, the servers could have been friendlier.

Pros: Many dishes to select from, ample parking spaces, nice interior decorations.

Cons: Servers weren't particularly friendly.

Banyan Garden is the best in the Bay, even when compared to popular Straits Cafe! The chicken rice is intense and addictive, even for those who have not tried Singaporean food. Malaysian dry curry is excellent with lamb or beef. Mee siam (fried vermicelli noodles) are not spicy and not like the ones from Singapore, but still very good and one of my favorites. Belachan kang kong is a fibrous green Chinese veg stir fried with a special shrimp sauce and is yummy, though possibly an acquired taste. For a great authentic dessert, try the bobo chacha either hot or cold.

This is one of Union City's best kept secrets. It may be tucked into the corner of a strip mall, but don't let the location fool you. The food is really good, the service is great, and you will leave with a really happy stomach. I strongly recommend their roti bread and the mango chicken. The atmosphere is nice enough for a date night, or for a night out with friends. I strongly recommend this place!!
