The store has very good management personnel. Hwever, the quality of service by the people on the floor is very uneven. Several were curt, misquoted on prices on more than one ocassion and knew little about products. The materials on the floor need better organization such as signs actually matching product placement.
This is the poorest quality Home Dpeot I have ever shopped in.

I had a really great experience at Alhambra HD a couple of weeks ago when purchasing an Energy Star refrigerator. I saw the item first on the HD website and then called the store. A store rep handled my car in an expedient way and went over the price over the phone. Then, when I went into the store I was serviced right away and given personal attention. Not only was the ES Refrigerator on sale, the salespeople were friendly. I'd recommend this HD to anyone.

Although customer service IS very important to me I think people forget where they are.....this is NOT norstroms. I visit this Home Depot almost daily for my job and find it very friendly. There are times when things are very heckic but I have seen many customers beening very rude and expecting employees to help everyone at one time. The days of personal shoppers are long gone. Come on fellow shoppers help your self a little and wait your turn!

I have been shopping at HD for about 12 yrs now and 3 yrs as a contractor Therefore I know the complexities that come with this type of environment yet when I read most of the reviews of other shoppers.
Their experiences at HD are terrible and unappreciated, granted not everyone is going to be pleased with customer service every time, yet I don't forget where I am at and the demand which is expected in such a mass facility. Expectation when at HD, just give yourself plenty [min 1 hour]of time to shop and understand the person in orange is another human being just like you

Although I don't like patronizing big box chains, sometimes HD has things other smaller stores don't. I do want to give high marks to an employee named "Nelson" who has always gone above and beyond helping me. Another very helpful employee is an older gentleman (but don't know his name) who usually works in the plumbing/electrical dept.

Of course, there have been quite a few times where finding help is futile --- but you have to remember most people are too lazy to find what they need so the employees tire of tending to the helpless.

They have no idea and will give you the wrong information. You better know what you need because no one will help you. Also look for items yourself you may find it even when they say they dont.

WOW I recently went to this Home Depot and wanted to praise how well I was treated in the Garden Department. Looking at the previous comments I am wondering if they are talking about the same Home Depot in Alhambra. I am not sure if I should mention his name but this gentleman helped me very well and I just wanted to say thank you to him. Thanks Richard in the Garden dept you made my visit to home depot easy and productive.

This was the worse shopping experience I have ever had. My cashier over rang an item and when I questioned him about it he walked away, if it wasn't for the cashier next to him who began yelling at him, he wouldn't have come back to see the receipt.
These employees need better training in customer service, as well as prices that should be made CLEAR and CORRECT...

Except for the paint department, where someone has to be standing behind a desk at all times, you can't get any help. If you shop here, you had better know exactly where the items you want are located because you won't get any help. I waited for half an hour for someone to help me with a tool shed purchase. The cashier kept paging "any available associate to Garden". No one ever showed up. My husband and I finally left and went somewhere else.

I once tried to take a "Do it Yourself" tileing class that they offered here. The hours were posted clearly out front, but when I showed up for the class, everyone acted like they didn't know what I was talking about.

Yes, I still shop here, but only because it's close to home and I have gotten used to finding things myself. I like to listen to the overhead pages just to see how many times they have to keep repeating a page.

I really wish someone from corporate office would come out to this store and act like a customer and see how long it takes to get help. The answer is never. What are these people getting paid for? The customer DISSERVICE here is deplorable! The store is very large so there are many places employees can hide from their work and believe me, they take full advantage of this opportunity to be lazy and get paid for doing absoutely nothing!

Like others, I go here out of convenience ONLY. As a recent buyer and "do-it-your-selfer" of a "fixer upper", I have needed A LOT of different things and/or need the occasional question answered by a "professional". Well, I gave that up a looong time ago. There seem to be a lot of people in orange aprons around, but (I'm not exaggerating here) they're either laughing and talking to one another, picking up on the opposite sex, talking on their cell phones, have a far away, spacey, "duh" look in their eyes or are hurrying away from me mumbling, "I'll be with you in a minute". I've learned over time, NOT to stand there like a dip sh*t for 10 or 15 minutes, waiting for them to return as promised. When I've gone looking for them in nearby isles, they've vanished off the face of the earth! On those rare occasions when I have managed to stop someone, they're either very rude (usually the women),or immature/unprofessional and overly "friendly" (which has been maybe half of the men I've dealt with. I guess this must be because...GASP!... I'm easy prey since I'm such a helpless, little woman alone! PUH-leeeze!). One thing is certain however: typically, they are ALWAYS, ALWAYS clueless as to where something is, what I might need for the given project, or how much an item costs. This dark cloud of lack of customer service DOES HAVE a silver lining however: It has forced me to really learn a lot by finding answers and/or items for myself, or by trial and error. And here's a tip for other "do-it-your-selfers" shopping at this particular Home Depot: There exists a GREAT resource in the front of the store, kinda in between the nail and screw & hardware and cement aisles but before you get to lumber. It is their book/magazine area. I suppose they expect you to actually purchase these items, but then again, they've been kind enough to include a couple of park benches right there beckoning you to sit and read awhile.I have spent much time parked on these hard benches, mulling over various "How To" volumes. I've even taken out pad and pen and taken notes on occasion! Let me tell you: It's a lot faster, less stressful, and has way, way more accurate information than the so-called "professionals" in orange aprons. And what's with the damn shoplifter door buzzer going off every couple of minutes? I've even set it off a few times; I don't know why; I SURELY WASN'T stealing. Oddly, even though customers in line are staring at me like I'm the scandelous crook in the latest "Cops" episode, employees could care less. When I stand there scared, like a doofus, waiting to be frisked and have my purse searched, yet wanting to prove my innocence, a checker nearby will impatiently wave me on even though the door. "WAIT!" I want to scream. "I WANNA KNOW what the heck I did" to set of the annoying honking. Geez...Management REALLY needs to get their sh*t together. I visited Lowe's in Pico Rivera recently because I needed a specific item which only they had in stock. When I walked thru the door, I swear, it was like the clouds parted for the sun, angels began to sing in heavenly voices and plenty of KNOWLEDGEABLE, COURTEOUS STAFF carried me off in a golden carriage!

PROS: Uhh....plenty of shopping carts and decent lighting?
CONS: Crowded, hot , & messy, orange-clad employees, not listing accurate prices

Okay, on the one hand this is a large chain store, so they will probably have what you need. Somewhere. Usually in a box labelled something else in a location that is not intuitive.

The garden center is an abomination. Every item is next to a sign that is for something else. Prices are incorrect 90% of the time. I eventually complained to the manager as was told they have so many vendors that they can't get ahead of the inventory. Strange, that doesn't happen at other stores in the same chain.

This store is so close to my house I still go there, but I feel horrible giving them my money. If you're planning a quick 15 minute trip add and extra 20 minutes to find what you are looking for.

PROS: Well stocked
CONS: Can't find what you are looking for.

Okay, on the one hand this is a large chain store, so they will probably have what you need. Somewhere. Usually in a box labelled something else in a location that is not intuitive.

On two different occasions I have gone to this location and have been disappointed. I have almost stood in an aisle and yelled out for help as finding an employee is impossible at times. I know there are a lot of people that shop there and they are busy. However, it would be nice to find someone that works there when you need help.

PROS: clean, location, good prices
CONS: employees hiding?

I extremely dislike this store. I always tell myself I will never go here again evertime I walk out the doors. But it seems like there is often a circumstance that forces me to go back. The last time I went here, I walked around for 1 hour looking for a mold test kit. EVERY employee I talked to told me something different and NONE of them acted like they cared. I had called the night before asking if they carried the test and was told they did. After asking 4 different people who would not help me, I used my cellphone to call the customer service desk. Finally somebody helped me. I hate this store and hope I never have to go back.

PROS: Have lots of stuff
CONS: Can't find that stuff and noone will help you find it
