I appreciate how this place makes my dishes consistently delicious. I usually like to order their Bun Thit Nuong, which is rice noodles, marinated grilled pork, sweet fish sauce, lettuce and bean sprouts. It's a great place for those who have never had the opportunity to try Vietnamese food because the menus come with photos. They also specialize in Pho, which is a traditional Vietnamese Rice Noodle Soup. The prices are good, costing about $4-$7 for large portioned servings. Also a good place to have a large group.
PROS: Consistently Good Dishes, Good Price, Opens Late
CONS: Fish Sauce tastes good, but smells "different"

When I first entered the restaurant, I was a little worried to see that it was almost completely empty. But it looked like a decent place so I thought I'd try it out anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. The prices are fair and the food is pretty good. The restaurant itself is a lot cleaner than most of the other pho places I've been to.

What is really great about Pho Hoa is that they are open until 2 AM. I do not know of other places on Castro that are open as late. The quality of the food is consistent and always pretty good. They serve excellent water and and are not afraid to refill it. Overall, Pho Hoa is always a pleasant, tasty, and affordable experience. It probably costs $6/bowl including tip.
