If you love your pet, DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS PLACE....

Our dog was brought here to have her back leg stitched and was over medicated. She died because of error and panic.

We're devastated!

When Dr Urich left, I was thinking of switching to a vet closer to my house. After my cat's first exam with Dr Walsh, I changed my mind. My cat is very nervous with strangers and new places and she was very comfortable with Dr Walsh. The supports staff is wonderful. I've always felt that this office had my kitty's best interests as their priority.

Fine for routine care but if your animal develops serious problems, go elsewhere. The office staff is wonderful so I don't want to say anything too damaging. Dr. Holly Trief is an excellent vet; she's empathetic, patient, generous, respectful, thorough, intelligent.
Be careful with Dr. Kim Haddad. My cat became very ill and for Haddad, euthanasia was the only choice. To make matters worse, she used the single jab injection method, no tranquilizers, which is like hitting the animal over the head. She knew my cat had arthritis in her lower body yet that's where she gave the final shot. My last memory of my kitty is of her screaming.

After reading the latest horrible reviews on my vet I need to say that they can not be true. I have been a client of Dr. Haddad for the past couple of years and she is very accomadating, thorough and knowledgable. I have been to many other vets and she is the only one that was able to diagnose and treat my pet's illness. There will always be unhappy people who love to blame others for their issues - I have never had a negative experience with Dr. Haddad. She is one of the few veterinarians who still seem to care for what's best for the animals!

Dr. Kim Haddad at San Mateo Animal Hospital and Redwood Pet Hospital is a rotten vet. She doesn't know what shes doing and nearly killed my dog and then she tried to blame me for not taking proper care of her. I took her to another vet right away and thankfully she was saved.

San Mateo Animal Hospital = Death Hospital.
There are a LOT of bad things about this hospital. The vets are very green and commonly make mistakes. Several people have lost their pets here because of dumb errors. The owner Kim Haddad is very controversial, and has been linked to radical groups in favor of early euthanasia including PETA. I even heard that Haddad has euthanized pets against the owners' will and without proper testing but just based on her hunch that the animal must be dying. I myself brought my cat here for about a year... the office staff was friendly but the vets clearly missed her infection, and thankfully another vet caught it before it was too late.

The staff is courteous, but the vets are not thorough with their examinations, and miss important tests. It is a good place to go for spaying and neutering, but not for anything serious.

Dr. Michelle Walsh is fantastic and so are the rest of the folks at San Mateo Animal Hospital. We're delighted with the care they've given our dog. We've been dog owners in the area for 15 years and are far happier here than with any other pet hospital we've experienced in the area.
