I've been taking my cars there for almost ten years for mechanical repairs. Sometimes the mechanic Brian is in a good mood, other times he isn't, and it's very obvious when he isn't. The last time I went there, before any verbal exchanges ever took place, I could tell he was in a very combative mood, just by his facial expression and body language. He treated me like total crap, FOR NO GOOD REASON, which went from bad to worse when I asked if he could take a look at a seat belt problem, which he clearly did not want to do. There was never any mention of a "liability issue" like the owner later tried to say was his reason, because he kept coming up with reasons that had nothing to do with it being a liability issue, like "it's not the right part" and "we'd have to take off the entire panel" in a rude tone, like that was going to be a prohibitively difficult challenge. Except the interior panel that would have had to be removed is one piece and is held in place with clips, it's not rocket science and they are a body shop, how hard could it have been? It was very obvious Brian just didn't WANT to do the job, and I recognized and ACCEPTED THAT and then said," just do the brakes then" and there was no attitude on my part, I wasn't grinding on him about it, I just asked if he would come out and take a look. When I realized he didn't want to do it, I didn't press the matter any further. When I said "just do the brakes then", he told me in a rude tone that he wasn't going to work on my car at all, turned his back and walked back inside. I got upset at this rude and uncalled for treatment and followed him back inside to protest being treated in this disrespectful manner, he just talked over me and then called me an insulting name and ran away into the back room. I put an HONEST review on yelp about this unacceptable treatment, which I was baffled by because I have always treated everyone at Simon's (including Brian) with the utmost courtesy and respect, not to mention spending a lot of money there over ten years of maintenance and repairs. Then the owner's wife called me on the phone and said my review was "full of lies" that they were going to lose money because of it, and wanted me to remove it. My review was HONEST, and if Brian gave them a different version of events, well, that's human nature isn't it.
I had to drive an hour there and an hour back/fuel expense, and had to leave without the work being done and my brakes were in really bad condition. I had to go to another shop and got ripped off for $668 for new front brakes. I require an apology. BEING TREATED LIKE THIS BY ANYONE AND THEN BEING CALLED A LIAR is unacceptable, and I don't care what their reasons are. Which I have a pretty good idea why, and all I can say about that is base your opinions on your own personal experience, not on what other people tell you to think.

I highly recommend this shop to anyone needing some work done on their car. They are honest and friendly. It's a family run business so they care. They except all insurance work.
