1 Stars: Downtown Medical is unprofessional and unethical. (by Adriana F.)

The worst practice I have ever been to. I don't think I ever even saw Dr. Bryson. I can't remember, but whoever I saw was more interested in $ than my health, and they were anxious to get me on expensive rx drugs. Disgusting.

1 Stars: Can you say "Insurance Scam?" (by NunyaBeeswaxSF)

The reception staff is rude and completely impersonal. You are your insurance card, to them.

The nursing staff that comes in to see you before the doctor comes in pay no attention to the chart you filled out detailing your medical history - they asked repeatedly why I was there, and it was stated in plain English the reason I had come in. Even my penmanship was good! When they take your vitals, they use equipment that may have been purchased from a nursing home bankruptcy sale. I felt dirty and used by the time the CNA left the exam room. Oh, the exam rooms are carpeted and I'm rather sure I heard the carpet say "clean me" before the doctor came in.

I saw Dr. Law. He spent twenty seconds "examining" me before prescribing me something. I had to stop him as he rushed out of the room to tell him I was highly allergic to the medication -- proof he read my file before seeing me. After forcing him to actually examine me and read my file, he had another diagnosis altogether. He then, well, scrammed out of the room to god knows where.

I was then asked to pay up front, despite my insurance stating I had only to pay my copay. At this point, I just paid in order to get the f*ck out of the office, thinking "ok, it'll be applied to a deductibe... not biggie, I'll deal with it later."

Get this:

The doctor's office also billed my insurance for the network amount, a full $90.00 less than what they charged me. Even without the network discount, the total doesn't add up. The boyfriend thinks it's a simple oversight... Simple oversight my a**.

This office is there for insurance money. They are not there to please customers or treat patients. They are in this for insurance money.

I'm contacting provider relations in regards to this doctor's office. They serious should not be in business.

**LOOK THIS PLACE UP ON YELP. IT HAS 30+ REVIEWS, MOSTLY NEGATIVE. DO NOT GET SCAMMED LIKE WE DID.***

5 Stars: Wonderful!! You can be seen quickly. Very professional and skilled and they TAKE YOUR INSURANCE! (by 128uji99)

This is a wonderful medical facility. People are nice, you can be seen very quickly--same day. They are very professional and skilled -I should know I'm a nurse- and yes they take your insurance ( very important since competitors say you can submit your own claim and get reimbursed later--don't believe it), Hands down best in downtown SF. Also, they do primary care and will accept you as a regular patient for follow-up medical and preventative care.
