Their produce, free range eggs and a few other items look cleaner but costs less than in most supermarkets around. I go there to get cheap chopped lettuce and end up buying between $70-$100 worth of things on average, and even though many of their other items are not cheap, they are unique to this store and I can?t give them up. Where else can you get real Stevia (not the chemical filled new products put out but some major companies lately who claim to be ?pure and healthy?) or wild rice, cute tiny mini pitas and tasty Yerba Matte tea? Bottom line: They have some surprisingly cheap products mixed even more expensive ones but they offer a very pleasant shopping experience with some interesting products. Most of their cashiers are very friendly and seem happy to work there. A major drawback is the parking. It?s always frustrating. I?m guessing they are getting more popular that they planned to be.

Great frozen bananas! There are a lot of different kinds of frozen meals and other items, such as chocolate croissants, that you can't find at other markets. The aisles can be crowded but the employees are always helpful and friendly.

This is one of the worst TJ locations I've been to -- you would think Santa Monica could afford some better digs! The parking is atrocious, the aisles are ridiculously small and the shoppers here are rude, obnoxious and always stressed cos this place is so packed. Although I have to give credit to the cashiers who are SO nice! Even so, I suggest the TJ's in WeHo on SM Blvd -- who knew TJ aisles could be so big?!

Pros: It's a Trader Joes

Cons: parking, aisles, people

I do 80 % of my grocery shopping there, they have the best food, the best quality and the best prices for favorite food from around the world(ex: best greek yogurt) A lot of the stuff are store brands. I buy all my fruits there, especially berries, best quality and prices as well. Busy store, best selection earlier in the day

PROS: great price
CONS: busy parking lots

My wife and I started shopping at Trader Joes regularly during the big So Cal grocery strike. That ended a long time ago, but we've stuck with TJs. The cheeses are excellent, the wine selection is tremendous and well priced, and they have great sauces and dips. Their house brand products are very well labeled, and their "fearless flyer" describes all of the new products and specials. A great floral selection, too.

PROS: great stuff at great prices
CONS: small parking lot and narrow aisles

I usually go on Saturday afternoons, when it's insanely crowded and various things I want are out of stock (veggie gyoza, chocolate chips, carrot juice...) which just goes to show how insanely popular this place is.

There are a lot of things here that are of pretty good quality and ridiculously cheap--12 rolls of toilet paper for $3 (not particularly soft, but at least it's 2-ply), a bag of chocolate chips for $1.50, a ball of pizza dough for $1, a bag of pita bread for $0.89, and cheap protein bars of all kinds. Also, you can buy single cans of soda or single bottles of beer, just like in Europe. The employees are friendly and happy. These things make me happy.

Generally, the things that frustrate me about Trader Joe's are 1. parking 2. crowdedness 3. things being out of stock 4. their sushi is kind of gross and has an obscene number of ingredients 5. the produce isn't very good 6. there isn't enough variety/selection of some items, i.e. they only have $2.50 bags of flour, and they don't have much organic stuff, but you might think they do because they aren't Albertsons.

I almost always go to Trader Joes with a short list and seem to come out with bags and bags of great stuff. The frozen foods, the bakery items, the produce, and pretty much everything are some of the best selections of any store. I live right around the corner from this store so parking is never an issue for me but it sure seems to be hectic in the parking lot during prime hours so I recommend off hours or parking on the street.

While you won't find all the mundane items on your weekly grocery list, you will find an impressive array of healthy frozen foods from around the world. Before you grimace at the thought of frozen food, consider that each item is hand-picked and sampled by the staff before it's stocked. Prepackaged tamales, pot stickers, pizza and seafood are full of flavor. Dont know what to cook for dinner? Stop by for great options at rock-bottom prices. Wine and liquor is delightfully dirt cheap as well. While parking and checkout lines may be a nightmare, the value and fine selection far outweigh the hassles.
