This place seems pretty unique in that they have products and advice for new moms located right at the hospital. They have drop-in classes/support groups for breastfeeding and they carry only products they would recommend, including nursing clothes. With lactation consultants right on the site, you have all the resources in one convenient place. You won't find discount prices, but you will find what you need.

PROS: convenient and helpful
CONS: some things are expensive

I accompanied my wife to this place. They have an awesome lending library. They even have books on how to give newborn kids a good massage. I spent a lot of time reading those books sitting there. We even considered buying a library membership. It is very pricey, but the folks are very friendly. For new dads, I would recommend checking out their library. They have a great collection of books.

Maternal connections is a great place for new moms. They have great clothing and accessories. They also have coordinator who help with questions on breast feeding and they also offer consultations. It was very useful for me when I had my child coz I had trouble with my baby latching on to me. The staff was very helpful. They also rent hospital grade breast pumps for those who may need them for a nominal fee. You can keep the pumps as long as you like and your credit card is charged on a monthly basis. This was a lifesaver for me.

Maternal Connections is a great place to get breastfeeding advice, connect with other new moms, buy a few little extras that you need, weigh your baby, rent equipment, etc. I used Maternal Connections a lot when my son was first born. I went to their support groups and often went to weigh him. They sell lots of nursing bras, so I bought mine there as well. They also rent hospital grade breast pumps. They have a library of books and videos that you can check out. I heard that they split the store from the support group sections, but I don't know for sure. It was nice having the store there (even though the stuff was a little more expensive). With a newborn, you don't always have time to stop off at the drug store to get something.
Also, maternal connections is the place where all the prenatal classes and parenting classes are registered. I highly recommend the New Mom's I-IV classes. They are a great way to meet new moms in the area with similarly aged babies.
