I would NOT recommend Bridal Galleria
by Jeanie M.
My daughter went into the store while I found a place to park. She showed the saleslady what style she was looking for and that she wanted lace. I got in the dressing room shortly before the saleslady came with the first 3 dresses for my daughter to try on. NONE of them were the style she requested or with lace!! When I told her what style my daughter was looking for, she said that she knew that but that was all that was available in our price range. We didn't have a limit on the price but my daughter asked to see dresses in the $2,000 price range to see what she could find. There is plenty in the overall wedding budget to get whatever dress she wanted. The saleslady then said she would try to find some more dresses but definitely made us feel uncomfortable. She came back with 3 more dresses that were still not the style we wanted to see. Then, begrudgingly she offered to see if there was anything else she could find and THEN came in with a Jim Hjelm dress that my daughter had tried on at another salon and was in the running for THE one. It was priced higher at Bridal Galleria. Even if it had been less expensive, we would NOT have bought it from Bridal Galleria. The saleslady was SO rude! My daughter chose a beautiful Claire Pettibone gown from Saks Fifth Avenue. I would recommend Saks and Alexandra Bridal Salon in San Francisco, CA, Trudy's Bridal Salon in Campbell, CA and Mon Amie Bridal Salon in Costa Mesa, CA. They were all helpful and courteous!!!

This place has a good selection of dresses, but as others have already mentioned, they have some strange rules that make the experience of purchasing your wedding gown not as enjoyable as it should be. First off, they don't let you look at the dresses yourself. Second, because they are afraid you'll take pictures of you in the dresses, they leave you naked in the fitting rooms (which can be strange if you came with a friend). Third, they only let you try on a few dresses. And finally, like others have mentioned, they definitely size you up when you come in and try to decide if you really will purchase a high end dress from them.

Bridal Gallery is a fancy bridal boutique located in the embarcadero shopping center. They have a beautiful selection of gowns to choose from as well as shoes and accessories. I bought my wedding gown from them a few years ago when they were still located on Van Ness Street and, at the time, they had a special promotion where your groom gets a new $300 tuxedo for free if you purchase your wedding gown from them. Their prices are pretty competitive if I remember correctly. The sales staff I dealt with were very friendly.

A Wonderful Store

The Bridal Galleria is a wonderful store selling bridal gowns and dresses for bridesmaids and flower girls. They have a wonderful selection of bridal gowns many of which you see on bridal magazines. They have you select gowns from their store catalog and take you to a dressing room where they bring the gowns that you are interested in trying on. Their dressing room has a large mirror with a platform to you step up on so you can better look at your gown. The staff are just wonderful and helped me find "The" wedding gown for me.

Nice place

I personally found this to be a good place to shop for a gown. Yes, it's a bit run down, but the dress selection is really good. It is true, customer service is average and the idea of chosing your dress from a binder is not all that romantic. Yet the dress selection is quite decent. And after all, isn't it all about the dress at the end!

The Absolute Worst
by sfcls
I went to a dozen bridal salons in the City and Bridal Galleria was by far the WORST. For my initial appointment, they lost my name and so I had to come back another day since they didn't have a consultant available to work with me. When I finally did get into to try on dresses, I would say the service was fairly average. They did have one dress that I wanted to try on a second time. However, when I went back, they had no record of my previous fitting so they didn't know what dress I wanted to try on, even though I had specifically told them I would be back to try on this one dress. I had to look at 20 or so dresses before they finally managed to figure out which dress I wanted to try on. It was such terrible service that even if I had found the dress of my dreams - which I didn't - I would have tried to find another store that sold the dress. There is no way you can trust a store that loses your name AND your file with such an important purchase. Bride beware. Maybe they'll lose your dress.
Pros: Moderately priced dresses.
Cons: The worst service imaginable.

i had a really bad experience here. i was excited to go there for a wedding dress and i made my appt. when i called they asked me 20 questions, one being my dress budget and one being my wedding budget. i told them thinking it was a typical question for all bridal shops. i showed up and the girl put me into a very hot fitting room. it was so hot, i was sweating ( and i normally dont) and then said to wait in the fitting room while she brings me dresses in my price range. the first 3 dresses were not what i was looking for at all and i told her that and she said, " but they are in your price range" at that point i told her to forget about my budget and bring me dresses that i am looking for, because if i happen to fall in love with a dress i will buy it. ( as most girls do), she continued to bring me dresses that i didnt like and told her i didnt want that style. she didnt make any recommendations on her own and even at one point made a rude remark about the style i was looking for. all in all it was a very bad experience. looking for a dress should be fun and exciting. i felt unwelcome in her store, i felt uncomfortable asking for the styles i wanted again and again and again. even if i found a dress i liked there, i would not give them the pleasure of having my money. i would try to find that style in a different store
Pros: designer dresses
Cons: service!

Salvation for reluctant bride! Best experience ever.

I am not a girly-girl at all. I am a personal trainer and even my dress up clothes are purchased at the Nike store but alas, we were having a formal wedding and something about getting married brought out the romantic in me so I set out to find myself a real bridal gown. After a series of disappointing trips to some other stores in SF and on the Peninsula I found myself at Bridal Galleria and finally my luck changed. The woman I worked with was awesome. She made great suggestions but really tried to help me find something that would still feel like me which was quite a challenge. I asked a zillion questions and she was so patient. We must have tried on 20 dresses before I decided on "the one". My dress arrived two weeks early and alterations were a breeze (I loved the alterations manager, Lina!). On my wedding day, I got so many compliments and didn't want to take my dress off! I guess I've been converted to a girly-girl after all!
Pros: Great customer service, excellent selection

So glad I got my dress at Bridal Galleria
by judysal
I'm really picky about who I choose to do business with. And planning my wedding was no picnic. Thankfully, my experience at Bridal Galleria was exceptional. They had an amazing selection of dresses and great service to top it off. They were super organized with every detail. I got swatches of the Lazaro dress I ordered right away, and even though I was a paranoid freak, they always answered my questions courteously and never made me feel like Bridezilla. (My best friend got her dress at another bridal salon in the city, and wow, what a nightmare she went through! No wonder I was nervous about it all.)
It's hard being a bride, but the staff was always there to hold my hand...literally! Yes, I made it down the aisle, and had a wonderful wedding. Got a million compliments on my dress. I even brought them a box of chocolates for putting up with me. THANK YOU everyone at Bridal Galleria. You're the best!
Pros: knowledgeable staff, great selection, nice tux dept

I had the perfect shopping experience!
by sarahm0623
I stopped by the Bridal Galleria in June with my mom, grandma and sister while on a visit to San Francisco. We did not have an appointment and had no idea that the were having a Lazaro Trunk Show. Right away the girl at the front desk made us feel very welcome and introduced us to Lazaro who was sitting at the front desk sketching a picture for another bride. They were able to squeeze us in after only waiting about 10 minutes. The dressing room was huge. Plenty of room for my whole group. I fell in love with the first dress I tried on, a beautiful Lazaro strapless with just the right amount of lace. My consultant still brought me a dozen more dresses to try, just to be sure. She was great, really made the process fun and explained so much about each dress. I ended up buying my dress that day and Lazaro sketched a beautiful picture of my dress. All in all, it was the kind of experience that I always imagined for picking out my bridal gown. I would definitely take my friends.
Pros: Great customer service, nice location, selection

I got my dress and didn't have to go to L.A.!
by hannahshaw00
I wanted a Monique Lhuillier dress and was sure I would have to go to LA to try it on but fortunatly Bridal Galleria had a trunk show with all of the ML line! I got my dress and had the greatest time seeing all the dresses, trying on several. My consultant was great and spent a lot of time helping me out.
Pros: Great selection, good location, nice staff

Best selection & service anywhere!
by angelyoung
Many friends from work had gotten their dresses from Bridal Galleria, so I went to check it out. I've gone to all the top bridal stores in the Bay Area, and this store was definitely the best. I wasn't sure what style was best for me so I really appreciate the one-on-one attention I got in a private room. My consultant picked out the perfect dress for me, one that I would never have thought of trying on. I felt like I had my own personal stylist to outfit me for my wedding! From beginning to end, I was really impressed with the store. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!
Pros: Lots of trunk shows. I got to meet the designer of my dress!

wedding Gown
by rose_7476
I bought my wedding gown at this store and I have to say for the amount of money I spent, I got the worse customer service I have ever experienced at any retail store. The management style has to go.

Decent inventory, but lacks customer service.
by wf0209
There are many other bridal stores in the Bay Area that provide you with great customer service. Its not worth a trip to the Bridal Galleria; the salespeople for both the bridal gowns and tuxedos are rude, arrogant and snotty.
