Casbah Cafe

Since Casbah Cafe came to Silverlake, i have finally been able to find a little oasis of taste. The food is great the tea's are numerous and good quality, and the coffee is addictive. The actual place is beautiful and you must take the time to enjoy the chairs outside surrounded by plants and murals. The boutique in the back is great and has a variety of things from garments to shoes, bags, accessories, blankets, linens, hand woven bath towels etc.. Great for present shopping as well! The food is fun and delicious. The staff adds to the environment of the place, most speak english as a second language and they come from around the world. So hit this place up! Its fun, hip, and you never know who you'll meet!

Funky? Barely. Eclectic? Perhaps. Friendly stuff? By all means no. Good pastries? I didn't think so.
This quintessential bohemian hangout always make me cringe. Their croissants are old and their salads are tasteless. Their sweets are overpriced and even though their imported teas and coffees are of good quality, I still prefer not to go to Casbah - last time they spilled my drink and barely apologized.

PROS: Delightful place to sit and watch the passing crowd
CONS: Double O - overpriced and overrated
