The service is good and the prices are reasonable, especially if you share some of the dishes that come in large servings, such as the nachos and the sombrero. If you're not that hungry, they also offer a good variety of side dishes. I've combined a side of chile relleno with a side of rice. Delicious!

One of our family's favorite restaurants. Reasonable prices and very filling. We especially look forward to sharing the nachos before ordering our individual dishes. Definitely worth return visits.

I always look forward to coming to La Esperanza because there are daily lunch specials, the nachos are amazing, and there is unlimited chips and salsa before your meal (for free). I've always gotten good service, the food is good, and it's inexpensive.

I ate there today and did not find it anything special. I had chorizo con huevos. The chorizo was great, but it had big pieces of just egg in it. The service sucked and the taste of the food was not worth the price. We asked for refills on our water and they plopped a pitcher of water on the table and didn't return until they gave us the bill. The beans tasted worse than canned and the rice tasted like rice-a-roni rice pilaf. The tortillas tasted store bought. All in all, it was edible but nothing like good mexican food. It is definitely not worth the almost $10 dollars a plate that we were charged. I will probably never eat there again.

Pros: Good chorizo

Cons: service, price, and taste

The 2 reasons to come to La Esperanza are for the guacamole, and what they call the 'sombrero'. Every time I've been here, the guacamole is as fresh and as good as any restaurant I've been to. The sombrero is an entree that kind of resembles the mexican pizza they sell at Taco Bell (but 3 times as large). And the sombrero is very good. The service here is usually fair to poor, and the place hasn't been remodeled since it took over from another restaurant 15-20 years ago.

Pros: great guacamole, decent portions
