Nixon Richard Library & Birthplace is GOOD & BAD for wedding & receptions.

by Melissa R. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,897

My dream wedding and reception was held here in 2005. I don't think I could have picked a better location. HOWEVER, the wedding coordinator was a HUGE flake not showing up to either the rehearsal or the wedding, which would have been fine had I KNOWN that fact and who to turn to instead. My mother was treated horribly by the security guards, running all over the grounds trying to find myself and my bridesmaids who were in the basement finishing up getting ready. I although I still love the location, make sure to have those details planned ahead of time, because for the price I paid to rent out the library for my special day, I sure didn't get special treatment.

Fascinating look at the life of this controversial man

by Chris H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,197

Say what you will about Nixon, but it is clear that he rose from very humble beginnings. This presidential library is probably modest as far as presidential libraries go, but it is a place where you can lose a couple of hours easily. There are cool exhibits like the ones for the moon landings, and what is very interesting is a walk out back to the small house where Nixon was born.

PROS: Good way to spend a couple of hours
CONS: Kids might get bored

Newly Remodeled

by carrie z. | insider Insider | Rank: 21,274

The Library is a nice place to walk around. The newly remodeled place has much to see, including Nixon's house. Also, many historical artifacts are up for display. It is located in the quiet city of Yorba Linda, where distractions are kept to a minimum.
