Even though service was not that great the food made up for it. I love this place. I recommend it to anyone who loves thai food..

Pros: Great tasting food

Cons: Service can be better

It was very interesting to read the other reviews here. My Thai wife and I come here all the time as we found this to be more authentic than the other Thai restaurants that have americanized their offerings. I highly recommend the larb gai (barbeque chichen salad), pad gra prow moo (pork basil), kang keow wan gai (green chicken curry) and pad woon sen (glass noodles with shrimp and veggies). We have always had great service from a very friendly staff. Try this place! Do not opt for the buffet at lunch unless you are in a hurry. Instead, ask the wait staff what they recommend if you are not familiar with Thai food. And if you like it spicey tell them you want it ped (spicey) or ped ped (very spicey). Beware though, ped ped will put your mouth on fire if you are not used to it.

Pros: excellent and authentic thai food

Cons: lack of traditional thai deserts

With signs posted both outside and at the counter "Best Thai Food in Silicon Valley 2006" by one of our trusted, local tabloids; one would think it would be a safe venture inside to have a tasty lunch. Definitely not the case. Usually with Thai we've experienced either exceptional or just ok, this place wouldn't even qualify as ok. The lunch buffet leaves you questioning how long it's been there waiting for you to walk in the door, and so we opted for the regular menu. Thai BBQ chicken with papaya salad was my choice and disappointment. The chicken was so hard and tough, and while the menu says "papaya salad" it was clear that's not what I received...close in appearance to american style slaw, however; mixed with whole peanuts and peanut sauce...which I can't have, and had avoided on their menu. My other half's meal, yellow chicken curry, came luke warm and rather bland. We both barely ate anything, but yet when the waitress finally brought our check she didn't openly address the fact that most of our food remained, she merely suggested I should have ordered #9 chicken.."it's really good".
Where do these reviews in our local Metro and Wave come from?

Been here a few times, mainly the place was deserted. Sat for ages one time as the waitress ignored me and talked to her friends on her cellphone whilst I tried to get my check. Walked out of this place last time as I sat for ages again and then they brought the wrong food, blamed some problem with the waitresses handwriting, didn't bother to apologize, so I just waked out. Avoid this place.

This is not the best Thai restaurent in the area, but the best part about eating in Thepthai is the lunch buffet. In the same amount of money that you would pay to get one entree, you can eat an all you can eat thai buffet. Love the BBQ pork that they serve in the buffet. The food quality is generally good but if you want to eat individual entrree, then you may go House of Siam, but i mainly come here for the buffet.
