5 Stars: Great Cakes (by Ruben Q.)

Coppelia's cakes are the best. I recommend the chocolate with bananas or strawberry's. I have been a customer for over 8 years. When I use to get my birthday cakes from other places I would always have leftovers and find a lot of it on the trash that my guest disposed of but since I started going to Coppelia's I don't have any left overs and my guest lick the plate clean. I always get great comments on how good it is. Good job COPPELIA.

4 Stars: Fantastic and Reliable (by Phuong Kim V.)

I live around the corner from Coppelia's Bakery, and it's an outstanding place for two things: rotisserie chicken, and baked goods. When I'm not in the mood for cooking, I can pop in to pick up one of their fresh roasted rotisserie chickens--for the bargain basement price of $5.95 (plus tax)! They're roasted fresh daily, and you won't find a better value. It's just as good as the rotisserie chicken you'd find at Houston's or Bandera restaurant--at a fraction of the cost. It's delicious and extremely flavorful! The other thing I love about this place is the baked goods. You can custom order cakes, or just pick one up ready-made in the case. The prices are unbelievable. I've been asked so many times if the cake I brought (for a birthday or party) cost $50 or more--when I really only paid $20!Also, you can buy just a slice of cake-usually for about $1. One of my favorite things to do is to pick up 4 to 8 different slices of cake to arrange on a dessert platter for a small dinner party at home. I love being able to get fresh baked goods--but without buying the whole cake! I highly recommend this place for either your sweet craving, or when you need a good roasted chicken.

4 Stars: great value friendly service (by Allison K.)

After getting sucked into recommendations of the regular LA bakeries for wedding cakes (Hansen's, Portos) I walked to my neighborhood bakery, Coppelia's, to compare prices and quality.

The tres leches cake is unbelievably good. I will go back just for that. The vanilla cake (wedding style) is just as good as the more expensive bakeries, and it's the same/bland frosting that's on every wedding cake.

Also, they are incredibly accomodating and VERY reasonable. In March 2005, I was quoted $215 for a 3 tier wedding cake that serves 100 people (plus a nominal delivery charge.) For the same cake at Portos in Glendale, I was quoted $400 plus delivery.

She offered to make it how I wanted - "just bring in pictures." Also, they have cupcakes for 75 cents each if you're looking for something a little different and economical for your wedding.

4 Stars: (by Rodney F.)

Coppelia's Bakery makes cakes to order, but what you really need to order when you come here is the tres leches cake. It's really, really good! Their other pastries are also enjoyable, but it is the tres leches that really takes the cake (sorry couldn', @
