5 Stars: American Vision Windows is An Ethical, Capable, & Affordable Contractor (by Joe S.)

From the first phone call to the final service, this company performs. The Consultant warned that with home improvements, there are always obstacles, and if we let him know about any problems, He would assure it was taken care of. He Did.

One of the windows was manufactured wrong and American Vision Windows was able to rush order a replacement and we were able to have the job finished a week later. The crews were outstanding. We have very nice floors, and they protected them, cleaned up after themselves, and were not in a huge hurry to get out of there at the end of the day. This was a two day job and they did their best not to put us out.

One of the windows had a crack in it a few months later. They ordered the new glass and had it installed within two weeks with no charge at all. It was the least I could do to give them a great review. As I read some of these other reviews, I can tell many of these people just dont get it. No Company is perfect, but this company will do whatever it can to make it right. There are some people out there that no matter how hard you try, there is just no making them happy.

American Vision will do whatever it can to make you happy in my experience with them. I just had them install a new entry door, and that went just as well too. I bought out of the Orange Office.

5 Stars: American Vision Windows Incorporated is Outstanding (by Marnos L.)

Outstanding Experienceby Marnie L.Today a crew, including Barry and Isidoro, installed 13 Anlin windows and 2 sliders. They came on time, worked diligently, cleaned up, and left after 7 hours of work. The workers were courteous and helpful, and answered all our questions. We are thrilled with the windows and the service. From the salesperson to the office workers to the installers, we had an outstanding experience. We would gladly recommend American Vision Windows.

3 Stars: American Vision Windows Incorporated is TERRIBLE (by L. W.)

I am updating this review. I was contacted my the field supervisor who returned my call immediately. He scheduled an appt and arrived on time. He was very a[apologetic and assured me of their commitment to customer service. He was able to resolve my issue quickly and courteously. While the past had me concerned about the company, I believe now I would consider them again for window replacement based upon their handling of my complaint. We ordered our windows in Dec 08, they advised 6-8 weeks and they came in 4/09. No calls unless we generated them. Promises to repair walls for new installation with stucco and they did not, had to call them back out. Spoke to Monica in the office who was nice but never followed thru. Had a recent problem, one window in "bowing " out and cannot close, they came out and said the lock was sticking, push harder. After replacing/new construction of 9 windows and a set of French doors, this is their "great" customer service. I would NEVER recommend them. From the sales dept to the construction, these people DO NOT not know customer service.

5 Stars: Anlin Sliding Glass Doors (by Matt H.)

American Vision Windows replaced my two broken sliding glass doors with Anlin sliders. They did a great job, were clean, neat, on time and fast. They had both doors installed in a few hours. I had a recent service issue and Sean Young sent me the replacement parts right away. It was a screen latch so I was able to fix it in a few minutes. I would highly recommend the company and the Anlin product.

5 Stars: Great experience! (by Tinzar H.)

We had 11 windows installed by American Vision Windows earlier this year and we couldn't be happier. Everything promised was delivered...on time. The windows are really nice. The staff were all very professional. And the installers were incredible. These guys laid down plastic everywhere they were going to step (or possibly step), covered all our furniture and even wore little booties whenever they were inside our house. I figured I would have some cleaning up to do when they were done...but I didn't. They left our house cleaner than when they came. Thinking about firing our cleaning lady and instead have these guys come out every week.We would definitely recommend this company!Tinzar H.

5 Stars: Great Service!!! (by Steve A.)

We had all 12 windows & one large sliding glass door replaced. They were everything you could ever ask for, prompt, courteous, & well mannered. The quality of work was great. One screen was omitted by the manufacturer, they returned within 5 days with the missing screen & installed it. This company is everything they claim in their advertisements. From the no-pressure sales to the final installation. I would have to say that our overall experience was nothing short of great. If this list is going to work, we have to post the great as well as the bad. This company was great & had just what we needed.

5 Stars: Pain Free (by Jan A.)

The company replaced 7 windows in my home. Very pain free experience. Company was on time, communicative, and did a fast and excellent job tearing out the old wood double hung windows and replacing them with new single hung vinyl windows.

1 Stars: Worst experience ever (by Sheryl T.)

My experience with American Vision Windows is the worst one I've ever had in all of my many many home improvements. I laugh now every time I hear their advertisements. It took months and months and several visits for the windows to be completed correctly. Their customer service is horrible.

5 Stars: American Vision sets a new standard for the American way. (by John S.)

THANK YOU AMERICAN VISION I can not say enough good things about them. I'd let this company baby sit my CHILDREN!! They truely are amazing they were very concerned about my needs as a customer and the help didn't stop at the sale. The Customer Care Center checked up on me and made sure everything was going smoothly throughout the entire process from my first FREE in home estimate to after the installation of my windows. I discovered a leak in one of my windows and they sent someone out right away to come fix it. They stand behind their products 100% I didn't have to contact the manufacturer once. American Vision handled everything so professionally from the Sales rep who came to my home to the installation crew that were all certified and American Vision employees to the customer service just calling to check on me. THANK YOU AMERICAN VISION. I'm glad I checked them out even thought many of the comments here are negative. I had to see it for myself and I suggest you do the same. Good luck with your windows everybody.

1 Stars: Almost a year of incompetence, lies, stonewalling and apathy. (by C W.)

This review refers to my experiences with the Orange County office of American vision windows.

On November 30, 2006 I signed a contract for seven windows and three doors. The promised install date was 6-8 weeks, which would have been 1-25-2007.

The problems started with the installation-scheduling manager and my experience with him alone would have made me cancel if I could have gotten out of the contract. He was rude, misled me, refused to answer questions, and was generally incompetent.

When I placed the order the salesman assured me that my wooden French doors would be painted and/ or stained by American vision prior to install and that everything would be installed at once. This was important to me as I had a baby due and did not want paint fumes in the house with my pregnant wife. I also needed to schedule three other contractors around the window/ door install and I needed this done prior to the babys delivery date.

My French doors were delivered to American vision and sat around for two weeks before the windows arrived. When the windows arrived the installation-scheduling manager called me to set up the install and asked if I wanted the French door painted at my house or at their shop. I told him I wanted it done at their shop as promised and he tried to dissuade me by saying that the install would be delayed because of this. I asked why they didn't paint the doors while they were sitting in the warehouse and he refused to give me an answer. I called my salesman and the sales manager and they both said that they would get everything handled and the install would go on a scheduled. At this point the installation-scheduling manager was telling me he couldnt make appointments because my cell phone wasnt working. I am self-employed and have had the same number for ten years. No one else complained about not reaching me, and I was getting calls every day when American vision supposedly couldnt get through.

Two weeks later the installation-scheduling manager called me again and asks the same thing, do I want the French door painted at my house or at their shop. I was upset now and told him that I had already ordered it done at their shop and they should have been installed already. He then stated that if it was done at their shop it would further delay the install and the painter would still have to come to my house and do touch up painting (this turned out to be a lie as no touch up was ever done, or even ordered and the install crew said it was not policy to do touch up). I insisted that it be done prior to install and he said that because their painter was very busy they could not get the painting done for a few more weeks. I was now very upset and asked why a contractor could not get painting done in a timely manner. Anyone, especially a contractor should be able to find a painter willing to paint one set of French doors within a 5-week period.

By now American vision was holding up the work schedule of three other contractors at my home. Finally after several phone calls I asked for the windows to be installed separately, and I would have the doors installed later. This was done on February 23, 2007. I immediately had to contact American vision because of problems with both bathroom windows. One was installed incorrectly and was crooked, the other was not manufactured correctly and did not close completely even when latched because the sash was too short. The crooked window was apparently installed without the use of a level because one side of the 29 wide window was lower than the other which was obvious to the naked eye. The installers were installing after a rain and didnt have enough floor covering to protect my light colored carpets. They seemed to think this was all right and I had to follow them around to make sure they werent walking on the carpet with their muddy shoes.

The doors were finally installed on 3-15-2007. I have had problems with the seals on both French doors and the bathroom door pours water into my bathroom anytime it rains. On August 8, 2007 the bathroom window was reinstalled correctly but the new window sash was still wrong. The last time I heard from anyone at American vision was September 19, 2007. I am at my wits end.

1 Stars: if i could do it over again (by ruben t.)

a.v.w. would be the last co. that i would use for any type of business. they care more about making a buck than customer service . my calls went unanswerd for weeks until i called the bbb. even then they took their time to call . the work is so cheap looking that i could have done better with plexi glass and scotch tape . they care nothing about customer service. they make a bunch of promises to get the sale and then they look for their next victim. they should be called american vulture windows. if it wasn't that i bought this trash i would throw a brick through them.

1 Stars: Terrible Customer Service - my windows leak (by George H.)

I cant get American Vision to fix my leaking windows. I called them two years after they installed them to tell them that a few of the windows were leaking. They sent out a supervisor and he made a report. It took American Vision 2 weeks to call me and tell me that they were not responsable for the leaks. They said it was not anything they did. I couldn't believe it. I called some other window companies that have said it was the cheap caulking that American Vision used. The problem is that there is now mold that can be seen. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and Contracors Board of California to try to get help. I dont have the money to fight a company like American Vision in court. I dont understand why they wouldnt want to work with me. I feel its the mold scaring them. I will post when I have an update.

4 Stars: If you need replacement windows... (by Marianna C.)

I have been looking to get an estimate to have my windows redone and happen to call American Vision Windows. The rep that came out to my home was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of information that need it to consider. After considering all of my estimates I went with them and did not regret. They came and installed the windows and even finished earlier than promised. Cleaned up after them selves. They even moved all the furniture around the working area and did not charge us extra. Couple of months after installation we had a problems with one of the door locks. The part was ordered and they came and installed it 2 day after at no charge. Great job. Very professional and nice people to deal with.
