This is a very fun place to go to with some friends. I went there for a friends birthday and it was a good choice. They brought my friend some ice cream and then dance with her. She really liked it. The only thing is I wouldn't order a mojito there- they weren't very good.

So I went to the Steps of Rome for a friend's birthday, and I'm glad she chose this place. The place is located in a happening spot in North Beach, and the staff is pretty friendly. The food was excellent and so were the drinks.

Located in the heart of North Beach on Columbus Ave., Steps of Rome is only 10 years old, but has made itself a staple of North Beach eateries. It is cozy inside with a true Italian menu to suit every palette. The service is good and cost is very reasonable. Although you may have to deal with tourists -- Steps of Rome is worth it.

Food tastes great, wide variety of menu selection, different daily specials eacy day, generous portions of food, food served hot and sizzling and quick from the kitchen

terrific customer service, manager always make sure that the whole table is taken care of, ensures satisfaction and goes out of the way to ensure that the customer's request is met

great atmosphere, reasonably priced, convenient location

PROS: Food tastes great, reasonably priced, terrific customer service
CONS: not big enough to fit all the people who wait in line to eat there
