If you're rich go here.  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

Two Stars for eventually fixing everything, the piece of mind that Audi Pros fixed my car and the nice way they stole my money.

If you're rich go to this place because its real expensive but they'll fix it eventually. $2,700 and 4 days later I got my timing belt, a diagnostic, 10K service, and a coolant leak fixed. For burning this much cash and the time it took, this place doesn't offer a loaner car. Don't get a 10K service here just tell them to do an oil change(you can do their checks with the manual unless you want them to find problems or check your tire pressure). They'll charge $2 bucks for windsheild washer fluid from almost full to full. They do use OEM parts so they told me.

I brought my 2001 Audi A6 to this place because of my timing belt. I feel this major job needs to be done at a place that specializes in these european cars. On the 3rd day I went to pick up my car but had to go back because my ASR and ABS lights came on and it would jerk at high speeds. They fixed it with no charge.

I would say you're better off at the dealer since their prices are the same or another place where they offer loaner cars. I would not go back to this place but if you do becarful of the billing, I think they find ways to over charge.

Very Good 1st experience  5 Star Rating - World class

Had a 1999 BMW. the right turn signal won't shut off. I called around a few BMW shops, and foreign car shops, and decided to try this place because they specialize in BMW and Mercedes, and had good reviews on other internet sites. My first phone contact was positive, the office is well-organized and staff knowledgeable and courteous. The shop looks very clean.

They found the problem in the turn signal switch and replaced it. The technician noticed the serpentine drive belts are badly cracked, and recommended replacing the belts. I checked my car maintenance records, and another shop had noticed cracks on the belts 18 months before. So this is an honest work that needs to be done.

Overall, I am very impressed that the technician did not simply replace the signal, but went beyond the job and checked out the car's condition, belts, brakes, etc. I will definitely use this place again.

long time  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

This place just took a very long time to get back to me about repairing my car. I had to get the bumper fixed and they didn't give me back my car after 2 weeks. I wish I went to the dealership now because I get charged just about the same price at this place. The quality of the work was, however, acceptable. But you would expect that at any auto shop that you went to. I don't think I would go back.

I LOVE my mechanics!!!! 5 Star Rating - World class

I wouldn't trade Ralph and his shop for anything! My latest car has more bells and whistles than I know how to use. Great for my husband who loves Audi's, but for a mom, I really just want to get to places safely. Every time I have to go to European Auto Works, its never been convenient for me (as a mom) yet they always do the most to make it the least painful, and go the extra mile to explain what needs to be done, why, and what its going to cost. With this shop, I get no surprises....other than "really, my car can do that too?!" It makes the maintanence and random car necessities in life, not so bad. Thanks for the most recent check on my random warning light problem and tire imbalance. That was scary! Mostly thanks guys for being so honest, and really caring. Your thrilled customer since 1995, Zsuzsa S.

Pros: Clean shop, great staff, informative, helpful in real life situations (ie urgent visits)
Cons: need more magazines

Took forever and other issues 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I understand that changing out the timing belt on a Passat is no small task. Still, they gave me an estimate and an expected pick up day/time and they were unable to actually deliver my car fixed and on time. A large inconvenience when you're a mom!
I thought the cost seemed over the top expensive and it was accompanied by a staff that was basically too busy to tend to the customers in the waiting room. When we did finally get the car checked in the owner was aloof bordering on condescending ~ tho I don't deny that he knows his stuff.
Lastly, while I know it's superficial, I found it incredibly annoying that they removed my license plate frame without asking, to display their own EAW license plate frames on both the front & back of my car! You can bet I popped those off immediately when I got home and put on the ones that were supposed to be on there. Seems awfully presumptuous to assume I would want to advertise for them.
Can't recommend them.

Pros: The owner knows VWs well
Cons: rude staff, repair took an extra long time, over-priced, put their advertising on my car

The TDI GODS in Mountain View!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 Star Rating - World class

I had my 2001 VW beetle DIESEL at another shop for a check engine light. Some of the items get fixed , but the owner got frustrated with the car for lack on knowledge about Diesels. I limped the car over the EUROPEN AUTO WORKS and within hours Ralph and his staff had an answer for me on the car. I travel for work and they kept the car for me and worked around my travel schedule. The car now is very fast and gets 48mpg around town. The nice part about the job is the entire car was looked at and all the items were delt with on the car. This saves time and frustration for me on having to bring the car back. I live in Los Gatos and getting to the shop is easy, I ride LIGHT RAIL from Winchester station and get off across the street from the shop. IF you have a German car or anything thye will work on go there. This is a very stress reducing shop to deal with. The prices are very fair. The staff keeps you informed with all the steps taken and answers all your questions. I have found a new home for the TDI. THANKS!!!!

Pros: GOOD SERIVCE AND PRICE WITH GREAT COMMUNICATION
Cons: NONE

"BEST" GERMAN CAR SHOP in Mtn. View 5 Star Rating - World class

The staff at European Auto Works are extreamly knowlegeable. They have saved me Hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs that the Dealer Was trying to perform pre-maturely. Example: My Audi was at the dealer for an oil service. They told me I needed rear brakes. They gave me an estimate of almost $600.00. Upon my surprise I called European Auto Works for a Quote. They gave me a fair estimated cost of $430.00
dollars. They offered to inspect my brakes at while I stoped by for a second opinion. (At no charge.) When I stopped by they said my brakes aren't even half worn out. "What a shock." They gave me a card and asked me to call on them next time I need service. Now that's integrity! I have used them now for over three years and am very happy I found them.

Pros: They know their stuff, Honest., Fairly Priced

Worth every penny! 5 Star Rating - World class

We've been using Ralph for fifteen years for three different cars (Volvo, VW, BMW) and have always had excellent and personal service. He and his team are comptent, efficient and I have been able to trust what he says. He isn't the cheapest at just under $100/hour but you get the job done right and with integrity.

I am just a happy customer who has had the usual experiences with car dealerships and the local garage, and I needed no inducement to write this review.

~Matt

p.s. The reviewer who had a quote of $225 to change the headlights - was that just the bulbs or the units? And nothing else? Seems like there's more of a story there.

Pros: Honest, Knowledgable, Personal
