I ordered furniture back in mar on 22 at yuba city store was told that it came in on truck to chico two weks ago now in some warehouse and you the owners will not release it. why. I do not know what is going on with you and ashley but this is the first matching bedroom set I would have owned and i am 64 years old so very disapointed in service and would never recomend ashley furniture to anyone. please get me my bedroom set.

I was treated extremely rudely by manager, J.D. In 12 weeks they have not performed on our purchase agreement. The told me my furniture would arrive in 4-6 weeks. It has been 12 weeks now and no furniture. When I went in to ask for my money back, they refused. They have red liquidation tags on everything in the store and it looks like they are going out of business. It looks like I am out of luck for receiving money or furniture. I hope you don't ever shop there because you will most likely have the same kind of treatment.

I ordered furniture on 4-16-2010 paid for it outright and have been waiting since then. I have called twice a week since the end of may and have been getting the run around as well. I heard the news that the Ashley??s Corporation was stepping in and helping to fill the orders and Ms. White was also helping customer??s receive their orders. This morning 7/2/210 I called Ashley??s Corporation to find out how and when they are planning to intervene and who Ms. White is I then found that Ashley's Corporation has no affiliation, they do not plan to fill the orders and they are unwilling to take any responsibility for the situation. I also inquired about the inability to fill orders because of problems with production. To which they stated that there are no problems with production, it is all part of the Northern California Scam. There is no Ms. White affiliated with the Store. I have contacted a Class Action Attorney and am hoping to take this as far as I can! All I want is my furniture, I am not asking for anything else. I can even wait, but have received nothing but lies. Furniture is very expensive and it is wrong to may people pay for something you have no intention to provide them with. Any complaints to the Better Business Bureau need to be made on line through the website. But at this time the Consumers have no power over the situation and need to unite to make sure we make enough noise that Massive Corporation will intervene, or the company will go under if they can not provide the product they so proudly sell.

I first used Ashley's Furniture last August (09) to purchase my bedroom set, I was met with great customer service and great selection. My bedroom set took less than 2 weeks to be delivered and the deliverers where great. I just recently went in again to check out sales and again found them to be very helpful and nice, I bought a coffee table set from the floor and they loaded up my car for me. I will continue to buy from Ashley's because of their great customer service and beautifully made furniture.

I sure wish I would have read these reviews before I paid in advance for my furniture at Ashley s furniture store in Chico.

I am in my 10th week of waiting for furniture a Love seat, recliner, media chest and three living room tables. and a large chair with ottoman. My first delivery date was the end of April. I was hoping to have the furniture before my daughters wedding the end of June.

I have been concerned because of the liquidation sale going on but have been assured it will not affect the furniture I have purchased from the Chico store. It is supposedly just the Yuba city store that is closing.

I have contacted the main representative for Ashley s furniture in WI. They have responded back to me and evidently to the customer representative in Chico too.
She contacted me this morning and assured me my furniture will be delivered. She also stated that the Main representative for Ashley's cannot do anything for me as the store in chico is privately owned.

I have forwarded this site link and her information to the WI Ashley furniture customer Rep. I wish I could give a good review and say that I have not experienced the same business practices that have been posted here. I am grateful for these sites and do read most reviews before purchasing, I respected the Ashley Furniture Name advertised on the networks. I wanted to support local business. I will reply and let all know how this turns out.

July 5th I am still waiting. I called the store June 23rd and was told they do not have access to any delivery dates and it has been taken over by liquidation company. Come on how is this possible to conduct business this way. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and am hoping they can at least get back the majority of my money back. My check to pay for a media center was cashed the beginning of April. They had one on the show room floor but said they would order mine. I saw through the window that the media chest has a sold sign on it now. How can they continue to do business why are they not closed down!

I purchased an item telling the salesperson before signing on the dotted line, that my main grip with Ashley is the length of time it takes to get the furniture. I was told , "see this green dot, that means that it is already loaded on a truck and ready to be delivered." He said it would take 2 weeks, max of 4. Called the showroom today and was told it will take 6 weeks or more, when I told the receptionist that this is why they are going out of business, she put me on hold and then hung up on me. I called back and they hung up 2 more times before finally answering. The manager came to the phone and told me that the receptionist had hung up due to my bad language. No bad language had been used up to that point but it was about to be. I aksed to speak to the sales person who made the claim of a max of 4 weeks as he took my money. I was told he would call me back. No return call, so I placed another call, and yet again asked for a call back. No call. Poor poor customer service. What they do not realize is poor customer service will ruin a company and as they say the pen is mightier than the sword. I will find every site and put a review on it, to make sure that others know what they are getting into.

Sure alot of people are not happy here at this place, but that happens everywhere. But dont let these few good reviews fool you either. This place is a nice store I have to admit but the sofa furniture is made of cardboard, yes cardboard interiors with cheap wooden frames and everything is stapled, no bolts, stapled. Trust me I used to repair this stuff daily. Also the tables are lined with beautiful tops but the frames once again are the weakness, cheap fiberboard and even cheaper china hardware, this stuff is either made in China or Vietnam.

Ohh and how I miss those billboards with Robert and his hot russian wife on them with their cheesy grins, what a fool I was to put my all into that company just to be laid off for cheaper labor, your guys rock at Ashley!

NO, this isnt a retalitory post, its more of a post of pure honesty, the furniture is crap and overpriced, so please dont let me stop you from buying something you may regret in 6 months when you have to return it for repairs. DO IT!

Also every salesman works off commision and their jobs depend on their monthly sales goals, so its a wonder that they want your money ehh?

I say stay away, maybe try Jennifer convertibles or other better quality manufacturers out there, Ashley is the WALMART of the furniture industry...

We are remodeling our house. We usually shop at RC Willey in Reno but Chico is closer so we wondered into Ashley Furniture. I did not research this store on the internet first. I sure wish I had done that.
Ordered a dining room table. We decided to just try one thing to see if we like the store. Thank goodness for that. We were told item would be here 2 weeks three at the most. Well it has been past three weeks. They now say it will be up to six weeks. I asked for a refund and was told they would charge me a 30% cancellation fee. Oh my Lord. After reading all of the reviews about Ashely stores I now know I may never get this table nor my money. I am sick that I did not read up before purchasing anything from this store. Nationwide reviews are horrible. I've never seen a company with that many bad reviews. Now I read Chico's and sure enough. I am praying that I will get my money back from this place. I know my tabel is an order I will never see.
I know the only good reviews have to be employees. I advise everyone to not only read these but read the ones from all over the country. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE.
I have never heard of not giving a refund. This is robbery.

My sister and her husband went to Ashley Furniture in Chico. They were met at the door by the manager and were told, "There is nothing in this store for YOU." I guess profits must be way up to turn down customers with money in hand!

I purchased a Sterns & Foster mattress on 1/12/10. I paid with a Visa debit card for $1,789.87. I was told delivery would take 4-6 weeks. On the 7th week, after an amiable exchange of information, Paul, my sales rep, informed me on Saturday, February 12th, 2010 that particular model of mattress was not available and I would need to select an upgrade. Ashley had none available, and Geoff, the store manager, authorized a full refund (no restocking charge). I was told it would take 10 to 15 days. I called this afternoon and was told the earliest I would have the full refund would be 3/19/2010. I beleive that since they couldn't provide the merchandise, they cannot legally hold my money fro that long a period. To the best of my knowledge, no return time frame is posted in the store. They have already held my money for 2 months - and it will be longer than 90 days If they credit my bank account. If nothing else, this is unethical.

I am filing a claim in small claims today.

Please contactJos Van Hout at (530) 538-2046 at the Butte County District Attorney's office if you have not got your refund. They are instigating a fraud investegation based upon a cliam I filed with them last week.

We bought a couch from Ashley Furniture that was promised to be here between 3 to 6 weeks. 8 weeks later we still don't have our couch. When we acquired after our couch (it took us a week to get an answer) they didn't know where our couch was. Now it's here, but never called us and told us. We called them to check on it and they said it was in but they couldn't deliver it till the next day. We should charge them interest everyday over the promised date. We will never purchase anything from them again and we will discourage others from going there as well. If only they would have communicated with us maybe our feelings would be different.

me and my wife went into the Ashley store in Chico and purchased a complete living room set and bedroom set and spent three thousand dollars it was delivered to our home in less than the 21 days that we were told it would take.. the delivery people padded everything in our house these people were great we received 20% off they also gave my wife a very nice pair of lamps for free and gave her 50 dollars of free decorations with our next purchase. i am glad i didn't read all of these reviews after our experience i think this is some disgruntled ex employees and some devious competitors all of these story's are the same these people would be out of business if all this was true. this should be checked out by law enforcement. and by the way one of our end tables were damaged and they delivered the new one last Friday you guys are all full of bologna

I had the worst experience ever with Yuba City Ashley Furniture. I came back from a deployment excited about getting a new livingroom set so I went to Ashley's Furniture in Yuba City. I purchased a the set for $1300 and they told me that it will take 6-8 weeks. On the 6 weeks I called for the status and they told me that my furniture is in Los Angeles waiting for the truck to pick them up. I called again on the 7th week and they told me the same thing. I called again on the 8th week and they told me it was in Chico waiting for to be picked up and delivered and that the delivery guys will call me for a schedule. I didn't get any calls comes 9th week so I called again and they told me that my stuff was in Los Angeles waiting for pick up. I told them that when I called the previous week the person I spoke with told me that it was in Chico awaiting delivery. They told me that that person was wrong. I waited patiently again and called on the 10th week and they told me that my furniture was backordered. I voiced my opinion and they refered me to the manager and he tried to bribe me with some incentives to see if I can wait but he couldn't give me a definite time for delivery. I had no couch or anything in my livingroom except for some patio chairs to watch TV in because I was wainting for my furniture. Finally, I cancelled my ordered and ask for my refund back and this was 22 June 2009 and they told me that it will take 10 to 15 business days. Since, I don't trust them processing anything anymore, I decided to call and check to see if they processed my refund (25 June 09) and they said that they submitted it to Chico financial department. I called again on the 26 to see and they told me that it was processed that day. So, day one of the 10-15 business days started and according to the calendar 15th business day would be 16 July. After the 10th business day which was 9 July I called again. They told me that it was processed and it should be depositing soon. I called again on the 13 of July which was 12th business day and the person I spoke with said that it should've been in my account. She said that she will call the Accounting department to check on it and she will call me back. I didn't receive a call so I called the next day13th business day and the person I spoke with Margie told me that it takes time for the courrier to deliver my money. I asked her why would a courrier deliver my money when I purchased the livingroom set with my debit card. I told her that it should be going back into my debit account. She got upset because I was frustrated and she hunged up the phone on me. I called 3 more times and three times she hunged up the phone on me. Finally, the 4th call she gave the phone to the manager Matt Hayes and he told me that he can't do anything until 15th business day. I called again on the 15th business day and I asked to be transffered to the accounting department so they did. The lady there told me that the 15th business day was the 20th because they did not work on 3 July because it was independence day....Last I checked, independence day was 4 July which was Saturday. So, I called again today 21 July because I didn't receive my money back yet and they told me that it was not processed yet. now I'm in the process of filing a complaint through the DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS (DCA) and filing a small claims as well as disputing my transaction. I hope that one of them works. All that has bad experience with them should file at DCA to put more pressure on them as well as the Ashley Furniture main company for giving them a bad name which I did and they responded and they said they will address that to the owner. With more complaints on hand I'm sure something will be done.

I called again on the 13 of July which was 12th business day and the person I spoke with said that it should've been in my account. She said that she will call the Accounting department to check on it and she will call me back. I didn't receive a call so I called the next day13th business day and the person I spoke with Margie told me that it takes time for the courrier to deliver my money. I asked her why would a courrier deliver my money when I purchased the livingroom set with my debit card. I told her that it should be going back into my debit account. She got upset because I was frustrated and she hunged up the phone on me. I called 3 more times and three times she hunged up the phone on me. Finally, the 4th call she gave the phone to the manager Matt Hayes and he told me that he can't do anything until 15th business day. I called again on the 15th business day and I asked to be transffered to the accounting department so they did. The lady there told me that the 15th business day was the 20th because they did not work on 3 July because it was independence day....Last I checked, independence day was 4 July which was Saturday. So, I called again today 21 July because I didn't receive my money back yet and they told me that it was not processed yet. now I'm in the process of filing a complaint through the DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS (DCA) and filing a small claims as well as disputing my transaction. I hope that one of them works. All that has bad experience with them should file at DCA to put more pressure on them as well as the Ashley Furniture main company for giving them a bad name which I did and they responded and they said they will address that to the owner. With more complaints on hand I'm sure something will be done.

I have to laugh at the excellent review and then to make it anonymous WHY?...What a poor attempt at rebuffing what is obviously true this store has the worst customer service even the owners dont return your calls or letters or email's.I could go on forever but my experience lasted almost five months with them that's how long it took from purchase to refund. Ridiculous If i were the owners i would be doing some major DAMAGE CONTROL PERSONALLY. I think thats what made me so mad was there was no aknowledgement what so ever that there is obviously some serious issues with this company if the owners or vp would have explained to me that there were some supply and demand issues and that they were trying to deal with it and that they were sorry for the inconvienence it has caused everyone. I might not have been so UPSET. These stores will not last this economy with services like this dont shop there because it will happen that you may be the person who does not recieve a refund because they are going belly up if you know what i mean.Oh by the way there Roseville store is closing hmmm.

As a former employee of Ashley Furniture in Chico, CA, I can tell you that the same owners have the Redding, Yuba City and Roseville stores as well. So you may want to be careful where you are shopping.

Okay, so we bought a dining set, and a full bedroom set from this place. The sales assoc. said that it would only take 4-6 weeks for delivery of our items, and maybe sooner since they weren't busy. The receipt said 6-8 weeks, no big deal it's a couple more weeks. We made our order on the last weekend of March 2009, and as of yesterday still no furniture. We had made numerous calls to the store around the 6 week mark, to see where it was in the process. They kept telling us that it hasn't reached the warehouse yet. On the 8th week, we called again and the receptionist had the salesman call the next day. He gave me some hogwash about how he and the VP of the company sat down and the VP had promised that ALL back orders would be delivered by the end of the first business week in June. Fine, we thought. We expected that we would get a call sometime during the week to schedule a delivery...nothing. We went in today the 5th of June, and 10 weeks after order was placed. We talked to the receptionist which called the salesman. He then proceeded to tell us that they were trying to figure out a plan for not only us but for many other people to get there deliveries. However, the person that was going to do most of the figuring wouldn't be in until Monday, and after that it would be a couple of more weeks until we see our furniture that we paid over 3 thousand dollars for. We told them that we wanted to cancel our order and it was bull that we had to wait so long. They did cancel our order without the regular 30% restocking charge that they give. Then they proceeded to tell us that it would take 10-15 business days for them to send a refund check. EXCUSE ME, but it only to them 3 days to cash OUR check and they expect us to wait 5 times as long to receive our money back. I wanted to talk to the owner, but he wasn't available until Monday and neither was the accounting office. I guess they only have 6 hour workdays because their hours are from 10am to 4pm. I will never recommend this place to anyone. After reading all of these comments, I am sure a lot of other people won't go here either. We plan on going to Yuba City tomorrow to Evans Furniture and getting the furniture there. I have heard good things about them through friends and co-workers. Oh, and also, with Ashley, I saw a sign while we were there stating that the commercials running for the Memorial Day sale stating that there would be no interest until 2014 was wrong, and they would only honor until 2012. I just hope that they let all of the people that bought furniture during that time know. These people are nothing but money hungry vultures. I hope that they are the next business to fail. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

Finally had to cancel the order with a written agreement that we would receive 100% refund. We are now entering the beginning of 16 weeks since our original purchase and subsequent cancellation and still Ashley has not refunded our money. We went to Evan's Furniture in Yuba City the same day we canceled with Ashley - ordered the EXACT same furniture and learned that it is an 'Ashley' product and it ships from the the same place in southern CA that Ashley was telling us they were waiting on. --- It arrived within 10 days to Evan's Furniture!!! --- Ashley in Chico is a rip-off! They must have a bad relationship with the guys down in So.CA. Don't go there and give them any money without walking out of the store with your purchase in hand. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

In February, my husband and I went into the Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Chico to buy furniture. Our house burned down in the Humboldt Fire in Paradise and we desperately needed a few things. We selected a couch, dinning table and chairs, and an office desk and chair. We paid cash totalling more than $1,700.00. We were told by the salesman that a "Rush" would be put on the furniture that hopefully we would have it in 6 weeks, but no later than 8 weeks. They have no furniture in stock, so this seemed to be our only choice. At six weeks, no furniture. At 8 weeks no furniture. At 9 weeks no furniture. We were told it was on the truck coming from Southern California on 4/3, on 4/11, and on 4/24. We called the store many, many times. No return phone calls. We received only one phone call after I emailed another store in Southern California. Completely, exhausted from feeling ignored, and I don't know if they were lying to us about the dates or if they just didn't know themselves when the furniture was coming. I walked in and asked for our money back. They said, they had to do paperwork and I wouldn't get our money soon. My husband spoke to a vice president and he said it would take 10 days to get our money. Wow! No apologies, to excuses, we were just expected to suck it up.

Yesterday we drove to Sacramento to a different furniture store and purchased and picked up the furniture we needed. As the couch was being loaded on our truck, we noticed it said "Ashley." We laughed.

The customer service people should handle their customers more kindly. It takes so long (8-10 weeks) to deliver a piece of furniture (a couch) but instead of being understanding, they are apathetic. I've heard of delayed gratification, but this isn't what I had in mind. Fortunately, the salesman was very accommodating and the actual "purchase" procedure was a good experience. Until they can fix their delivery times, I can't feel comfortable (with or without a couch to sit on) recommending them right now.

From the moment my husband and I set foot in the door we were amazed by the beauty of the showroom. They have EVERYTHING to decorate and furnish! And the prices were so surprisingly affordable.Our salesperson was extremely helpful and keeping our budget and small space in mind was able to find us just what we wanted. We picked up our items, when we got them home we found our love seat was missing the feet we called the customer service department and had new feet arrive at our door in less than a weeks time. We have now upgraded our living situation and a very excited to return to Ashley Furniture Homestore to purchase a dining room table.
