I rode the ponies in Griffith Park starting in 1946-47 when they first moved there from Lincoln Park. Tom Wright, the original owner, became a very good friend. I had several birthday parties there. When I had my own daughter I took her there to meet Tom and to ride the ponies. I went a couple more times over the years. Then on September 26, 2009 I was in Los Angeles for a convention and took the opportunity to visit again. I had a flood of memories. I met the son of the new owner (since 1980) . There have only been 2 owners. They have more ponies, and have added a track, but everything is still pretty much the same. It is still clean and well run and everyone is friendly. I would recommend the pony rides to anyone.

My son loved this place when he was little (and the train too) and now my daughter loves it! We easily and happily spend $21 each time because she likes to ride multiple times. The loop is long, the ponies are remarkably well-trained (they are loose--- not tied) and gentle, and the workers are nice, friendly and understanding. The guys let my daughter trade ponies on light days (mostly weekdays--- weekends are crowded) and even pick which one she wants. The only drawback, the place needs a major makeover. The ponies are healthy but need better grooming, new halters and blankets, and the place could use some paint. A nice touch would be to have the ponies names somewhere, like on the halters or saddle.

My co-worker told me about the Griffith Park pony rides actually and so I took my daughter there to try it out since she always talked about wanting to have her own pony after seeing them on t.v. She was a little intimidated at first to ride the pony but the guy that worked there was so nice that he let her get back on again after her initial refusal to get on.

This place is great fun, and every kid should ride a pony at least once. They match you up with a pony depending on how scared you look and how fast you look like you can handle. It's good for kids to feel like they're living their pony dreams but also reassuring for parents that they're just going in a loop. Fairly inexpensive as far as pony rides go also, and the rest of Griffith Park is beautiful as well.

I remember riding the ponies here when I was a kid and I had the greatest fun. I remember always pleading to go for pony rides whenever my mom took my sister and I to Griffith park. My mom still takes my younger brother there for pony rides and I sometimes go with them to watch. The kids really love riding the ponies and they usually have a lot of kids and parents there.

My kids really love the Griffith Park Pony rides. They have free parking available. The pony rides are for kids of all ages. They have one where the small ponies are tied to a carousel-type of contraption and the ponies just walk around this. Parents are allowed to walk next to their children. They have like 4 different pony rides that kids can ride depending on their height and weight.

Kids love this place, and I would say, parents "kind of " love it. They charge a pretty high fee for a pony ride, but they're in a great location in Griffith Park. Its beautiful, clean and theres plenty of parking. My kids would love to go here every weekend, my pocketbook lets us go more like twice a year.

This place is really nice for children. They have cute pony's that the kids can ride. There's a few things I don't really like about this place. First of all they only have a small area where the pony's go in a circle really slow. Secondly the place has a weird odor which is not unusual because of the animals but nothing major that will make you run out.
