Ponce's Mexican Restaurant

After reading all of the reviews on this place it's obvious that you either love it or hate it ... I absolutely love this place.
You can't find better service anywhere in town...well maybe you can but in all the years I've lived here, I've never felt more welcome in a restaurant. The staff are funny, witty, sassy and rockin. Aside from the hip and trendy kids that crawl all over that place the last thing you'll ever see is pretentious staff.
Now ... to the food!
I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas with flour tortillas! That red sauce is to die for and I've never once been disappointed. The chips and salsa are worth the 45min wait.
The negatives:
-parking sucks a huge one
-I hate waiting in the line (so go before the rush)
-The people at the bar can sometimes be a little too loud

The potato taquitos are my favorite! I love going here and definitely glad that I found this place. It is definitely my favorite place to go to in San Diego.

We discovered Ponce's in December 2007 (thanks to Rod Luck at KUSI) and have eaten there every week since! We LOVE the potato taquitos, cheese enchiladas, and margaritas on the rocks! We now bring friends, family, and neighbors to Ponce's instead of going to Old Town for authentic and delicious Mexican food. You can't beat the service, the price, nor the quality. We love it. The only downside? The parking is tight but worth it.

and so are the tacos, enchiladas and guacamole, to name just a few tasty items. The food comes in huge portions so you could split a combination with a friend and easily feel full. Or you can get your perfect combination by ordering from the a la carte menus. Everything is good here, including the service and atmosphere.
