Worst place ever. I am the owner of a mixed chiwawa, Her name was Betty. I took her to this hospital on Wed. December 14, 2011 around 4pm. The vet gave me a false diagnosis. Then four hours later the receptionist called me and told me that Betty was doing 10 times better and she was ready to go home, and i was going to have to pay the rest of my balance. She even reminded me that every night that my dog stayed was an extra 100 dollars. This place plays and manipulates peoples feelings. How could an "animal lover" tell you that she is perfectly ready to go home and reminds me of the money i owe very unbelievable. I am glad to report that i am reporting this veterinary clinic to the Better business Bureau. If you really love your animals don't take them here it is the worst place ever that only wants your money. These people aren't here to help your animals they're here for your money! Like i told the receptionist my kids didn't ask for a Christmas present they asked for their dog to be healthy again and these people didn't help my kids at all.

Well i took both my chihuahuas and on one of them he diagnosed her with epilepsy without running any type of tests only based on the symptoms she had experienced he gave her phenobarbital and just last week we took my other chihuahua because she had a seizure and right away he told us it was epilepsy without running any tests but i requested blood work to be done to be sure and unfortunately she is epileptic as well and on phenobarbital and idk why he gave her b complex and amoxillin . i guess i didn't like the fact that he diagnosed my first dog with epilepsy without any tests proving so...and it is pretty costly but we take our dogs there because I've heard people say he is a good vet despite his age all based on his experience . overall i guess the service was OK

Unfornately I made a big mistake by taking my baby Shorty to East Los Angeles Dog & Cat Hospital. He was one year old, vaccinated, healthy. I took him to El Monted Pet ER on Sunday after noticing he was'nt his usual playful self. He had Parvo They treated him overnight at the ER, and advised me to take him to my regular. Well I just moved to Montebello and did not have a vet close by. I took him to East LA Dog and Cat hospital . And they allowed him to suffer and die. After one week of them telling me he was recovering on a daily when I would call to check his status. They finally told me I could pick him up on Saturday. My roomate picked him up while I had to work. I was suprised to to see when I arrived home at 1:30 pm that he was not well. He was weak and obviously dying. He would stare at me with this crazy disoriented look I would not recommend them to anyone. Do not take your pets there, they dont care about how they feel.

Criminal! The "Dr." gave me little information and was hostile when I asked questions. Out dated knowledge, substandard medications, inhumane and harmful conditions are common practice at the East Los Angeles Dog & Cat "Hospital."

Pros: none

Cons: criminal

Definetly high traffic as there aren't too many full service vets in the area but staff is very nice and they're really good about dispensing RX quickly. They've saved me a couple of times with the meds!
