Unfortunately, I waited to make a reservation to a restaurant in San Francisco 4 days before Christmas. Choices were limited, so I thought, lets make a reservation at Postrio. I have been there years ago and it was great! \r

Cons: Horrible staff, price of average food
Go by the locals pizza grill to enter this place, had great food, the service was great and is a typical celeb name joint but give it 4 stars not 5.\r
Nothing to do with service or food, the chairs backed up in the hall next to the tacky

The last time my mom and I were in San Francisco, we made a visit to this acclaimed restaurant. Every bit was delicious. We ended up staying for serveral hours and eating our way through several courses. I would definately recommend

Pros: Delicious food, in the heart of san francisco, ambiance
Cons: limited parking
I saved a gift certificate I received to this restaurant for a rainy day and when I finally used it, I was thoroughly disappointed. For what you pay, you can get a much better meal at other SF restaurants. \r

Pros: Close to the theatres for a drink at the bar
Cons: Pricey - no value here
In my experience when Postrio opened it was a very pleasant place to go, but as the hotel crowd descended on this basement turned eatery the hostesses became less concerned with frequent customers and more concerned with the image and snobbery. The last meal I had there in 2001 was not at all worth describing because frankly it was unmemorable.

A group of coworkers and I were looking for a nice place to end a very busy day on 8/4. Postrio sounded like the perfect fit, and it was in every way shape and form. Reservations were easy, and upon arival, we were treated like royalty.

Pros: menu, service
For me it's not what a restaurant meal COSTS but whether I feel I had value. I stayed at the PRESCOTT last weekend and decided to eat at Postrio. Cost was 148 dollars for which we had two entrees, two appetizers, one glass of wine. I

Pros: The steak
Cons: Very poor value, slow service
Postrio is one of the loveliest, classiest restaurants in the city. This is the place to take your lover for a very, very special occasion. The dining is world-class (I recommend the lamb chops and ahi tuna), the service is superb, and the atmosphere is elegant.
That being said, it's also an expensive restaurant, but you do get everything you paid for. Parking is difficult, but it only makes their valet service that much more worthwhile.
PROS: Almost everything
CONS: Price

Great food and great atmosphere. Had a wonderful meal here while attending a conference. Very convenient to Union Square. Make sure you save room for desert!
4At first, you walk through a seemingly small, dark passagway/bar but soon after an enthralling and grandiose scene opens itself up before you. The bread was very good, but the appetizer portions, though tasty, were a tad small and

Jacques Pepin can't be wrong. One of his secret hang outs when he visits SF is Postrio. It's got it all: excellent food, refined service, and great ambiance.

Pros: Overall great deal
Went there for lunch a couple of time and the food was tasty, expensive but tasty. Had a special dinner there to celebrate and must say the food was so bad we could not eat it. You could not even compare it to any of the other resturants
