Where else can you get your car washed and spend $20 for steak and eggs for breakfast? The steaks are indeed expensive, but this dining car is well worth the price. Try out happy hour and taste some of their great food. Bring your wallet and expect it to leave a bit lighter, but you will be pleased with the food. This is one of the few places that is really worth the price.

A hidden 'old L.A.' treasure nestled in a bad part of the new L.A. Beautiful train car interior with its original trappings and service that is on par with any high end steakhouse. The best part? OPEN 24 hours, every day including Christmas. Who needs Dennys? Pricey but worth every penny...if you like mouth-watering filet and prime rib.

This restaurant is really inside a Dining Car and it is actually nice. The Rib eye steak was so tender and juicy. It is a little pricey for the location, but it is worth it. I highly recommend this location.

the name of this restaurant is the Pacific Dining Car & it's in a REAL Pacific Dining Car... they serve breakfast, lunch & tea, plus they serve dinner 24 hours a day.
They are pricey & worth it. This is simply the best place to eat a steak, cooked to perfection in Los Angeles. They've opened another one in Santa Monica, but this is the original & it has the atmosphere of dining at the turn of the last century.
The waiters are professional waiters, menus are on a slate that is brought to your table, booths are leather.
Lunch is a place where the CEOs of the downtown corporations wine/dine their clients.
My favorite steak is the Delmonico which is a grilled prime rib. It's expensive & huge. Worth it. Menu is a la carte.
Order a side of onion rings (it will feed 4) which are so incredible you will think you've died & gone to heaven. The onion is sliced, lightly batter & quickly deep fried in oil, so they are NOT greasy nor heavy, just sweet & delicious. Fantastic.
Your steak will come with a potato (they do serve chicken, but why bother? this is the place in L.A. for steaks). Order the baked potato & a waiter will bring a tray with freshly chopped chives & fresh REAL sour cream, which they will ladle onto your potato until you say "stop".
They serve fish too, but I've never bothered, as the mid-western, corn-fed, aged Angus beef is why you eat here.
This is a wonderful restaurant... expensive & worth it.
