Terrible. The food was okay, The guy wanted an additional dollar for a refill of poppadums with a bill of over 60 dollars for two people. The food was average. The bill was illegible and appreared to not tally/. When told, the waiter, who was good so far, turned belligerent and developed a massive attitude. The lady who owned the place was sitting right there and not only did not intervene, she also carried on a conversation with the waiter where he vented vicariously. Pathetic. I paid the whole thing anyway and resolved never to go there again. We visited it in the first place because we were staying at the Hilton Checkers on Grand Ave and had not eaten Indian food for several days. Seedy looking too:(
Restrooms require you to go out with a card key... ugh. Would recommend folks who really want a good experience with Indian food NOT to go to this place.

Gill's is located in the back of the lobby of a downtown LA hotel. Cool, funky place that has pretty good food and prices are inexpensive. Really good lunch buffet.
3Took my girlfriend the other night since it was down the block from our apartment and we were craving Indian food and didn't feel like driving to Hollywood or Santa Monica.\r

I ordered the Roti and Lamb Vindaloo and my girlfriend

Although this place is nestled back inside of a seedy hotel, do not be alarmed. The food here is authentic, reasonably priced and perfectly seasoned for the North Indian food connoisseur. The chicken tikka masala is perfectly textured with

Pros: excellent quality, reasonably priced
I have been working in LA downtown for the past 1 year and have visited Gill's, surprisingly the only Indian restaurant in about 3 mile radius of downtown, 3 or 4 times for lunch. I realized the second time itself that they don't change

Pros: Quickly accessible in downtown, parking validation, not crowded
Cons: Unchanged lunch buffet items, poorly lit interiors, not so pleasing customer service
The food and service was wonderful. Yay for great indian food that's in downtown.

Gill's is great. Every time I go to the convention center for a show, my entourage & I end up at Gill's for dinner. For anyone who likes Indian food, Gill's is worth the jaunt downtown, the food is excellent. In a great old building as
