This is my go-to place for Chowder down at Pier 39. I really like how fast it is and how delicious the white clam chowder recipe is. It's one of my favorites in the city -- and you know how popular it is in SF!

Definitely recommend it.

If you like clam chowder you definitely have to come try it at Chowder's. Their clam chowder in the sourdough bowls is absolutely amazing.

My Mom and I really enjoyed their New England clam chowder and sourdough breadbowl. We also enjoyed the fried zucchini. It's a great place to eat lunch if you're looking for something quick, simple, and reasonably priced. Also, having a view of the San Francisco Bay while eating lunch there wasn't a disappointment.

Great chowder in a sourdough bowl. Very filling and tasty soup. I love their tuna sandwich.

I'm going to try the fish and chips next time.

Service was great, food was excellent, and prices were reasonable.

I LOVE their clam chowder in the amazing sourdough bowls. Both the New England and the Manhattan are very good, depending on your preferences. This is a must visit whenever any of my family comes to town. I also like to get an extra order to go and reheat it the next day and dump it into a bread bowl. Delicious!!

Pros: Quick, cheap

Cons: Noisy, touristy

not bad. especially if you're a tourist that wants clam chowder since you're by the pier. nothing is too die for there but you could definitely do worse.

So I saw this eatery featured on NBC's "Today" Show earlier this spring. Thinking to myself, hmm, I'm a native to the City and love finding tasty digs, I wanted to give this place a chance. Lots of the menu consists of fried food, but

Pros: Efficient workers, Fair prices, Open air kitchen
