The restaurant was packed and positively lively on a Saturday night. Even without a reservation, there was no real wait to speak of! My Italian waiter was a very cute older gentleman by the name of Giovanni. He was a real professional and yes, we left him a big fat tip! The salad was fresh and colorful. My order of Prawns Carmelo was delicioso! The prawns were large, and the sauce was Buon Gusto! I needed all of my bread to clean my plate, and I didn't feel overly stuffed after my meal (always a good sign!) The accompanying veggies (Broccolini and whole Baby carrots) were lightly steamed and sauteed in Garlic and Olive Oil. According to the owners, they are in the mids of renovating the place....and they showed me their nearly completed updated banquet room (thinking about using it for my Mom's birthday party next month) which was beautifuly decorated without being over the top! Buon Gusto is a place where you can feel at home, eat good food, and meet good people. We had a blast! I will be booking that banquet room on Monday for sure.
I'm an old spoiled Italian so; I am very particular when it comes to Italian food. A restaurant only gets one chance to get it right. If they fail I never return. This restaurant cooks food just like Nona and Mama did and, they are generous with the portions. These two Sicilians have served this old Toscana and his family, friends and business associates many a good meal over the years. They have never failed to please those who I have brought to the restaurant and, the service has always been excellent. They have been consistent in providing great food, great service, and a friendly environment. The staff really goes out of their way to please their customers.and, not that they need to but the owners are always right there at the door or in the restraint supervising, and getting feed back. Grazie Carmello and Vincenzio you do a good job..

Buon Gusto has one of the best italian food I have tasted. The service is excellent and they are family friendly. seafood pasta is excellent and the prices is very reasonable. I love to come dine here. I love it because I can bring my little kids and don't have to worry about upsetting anyone for a little noise.
Buon Gusto is a very good, classy Italien restaurant. As I european who has recently moved to the US, I was impressed and pleased by the very european style of decor and dining. The restaurant is very popular and the 5 times I have been there the restaurant was full of guests. The food is excellent. The Linguini tutto mare is a personal favorite but every dish I have tried has been excellent. The desserts are always tempting and excellent. 4+ stars for the food but sometimes the service is not as attentive as I would prefer.
I was out and about in South SF and stumbled upon this great Italian restaurant. The foh and servers were very nice and attentive, but the food was even better. I am a Lasagne snob and can honestly say that this was the best i ever had. they also offer a nice 15% discount to boot. If you are ever in SSF, check this place out, you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to print up your discount coupon!
I have been going there since I was a little kid and I love it. Even right when you walk in they greet you and talk to you before you get seated. Every birthday since I can remeber I have had my family dinner there. They turn down all the lights and bring out dessert with a candle and sing to you. Usually, everyone in the resteraunt is singing happy birthday and that makes you feel very good. I love this place and I miss it since I have moved away. I love everyone who works there, they make you feel like part of the Buon Gusto family. I love Buon Gusto!
Pros: Food. Workers. Fun for birthdays.
Cons: NONE!
This restaurant is a great find for me and my friends. Truly an unexpected surprise because never in my life have I had such a wonderful dining experience. Not only is the food delicious, the staff really makes you feel at home. We didn't have reservations, but they managed to seat us right away even though it was really crowded. I highly recommend calling in for reservations if you do plan on dining there.
Being that my family is from Italy, I love this restaurant! The food is amazing, the portions are huge! You get soup or salad with the meal! Everything is outstanding! The calamari are to die for. A secret: try the filet mignon-- super good, even by steakhouse standards. And you will enjoy the tiramisu, zabaglione or the chocolate mousse!

My wife and I visited Ristorante Buon Gusto for the first time and would highly recommend it to anyone who wanted great Italian food in a wonderful atmosphere. Our waiter was courteous and prompt with his service. The food from the salad to dessert was way above average. We will return as often as possible.
